A student learning about LGBTQetc from an educator is more ideal, regardless of age The woman in this video mentions that she is working with middle school kids who are at risk. I imagine most of their parents are more concerned about their children staying in school and out of jail.

And even then, children and some random math teacher shouldn't be having casual conversations about anything sex related unless it's in the context of a sex ed class. When a little kid asks a teacher a question about anything that someone could deem inappropriate, they should just respond with "that would be inappropriate for me to answer, why don't you go and ask your parents". Simple as that.

A large majority of it's authors have worked alongside Trump during his administration and previous transitions. After criticism he, understandably, tried to distance himself from the foundation & project... but it's been clear these past 24-48 hours that it is a very real thing and a tailor written playbook directly for his presidency. After all, it's hard to distance yourself from an organization that has been staffing Republican Administrations since the 80s. Matt Walsh and many of Trump's allies and close supporters have publicly expressed that Project 2025 is a real thing. I don't expect you to listen to me, but if you're interested there are amazing video essays on Youtube that dive into it. Regardless of your political views it's always important to stay as educated as possible on these kinds of topics.

It's hard to understand the severity of Project 2025 policies regarding education unless you actually work in the field or hear about the potential affects from teachers themselves. DES students will have unbelievably higher obstacles if the Department of Education and it's funding is dissolved. Consequently, the current basic human right to a fair and well-rounded education will be completely abolished if education is given to the states. Not saying some states won't excel if given the opportunity to create their own curriculum and funding, but we certainly won't see every school-aged child getting the access they deserve in a country that claims to be "free" and "for the people". We should want to be the most educated and well-informed country on this planet, but sadly we're not and it'll just keep getting even worse. Fine, let states decide marijuana legality and rent control policies for now... but education is not something that should be played around with.
