Crip Mac Returns to Prison (Part 1/3)

Sucks to make this, but due to the ridiculous nature of Crip Mac's charges, I feel as though I have to.

As many of you may have heard -- the feds recently decided to 'adopt' Crip Mac's case from the State of California, which was  Possession of a Firearm as a Felon. They are likely sentencing him to a 5 year minimum sentence, and potentially adding 10 years to his sentence as a result of their 'gang enhancement' which would raise his 'offender level' in the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

As you'll learn in this video, Los Angeles County stopped their Gang Enhancements in 2020, citing prison overpopulation and increased recidivism rates, but these practices continue on a federal level.

In this series, we'll interview his Mom (Momma Bear), Grandmother (Granny Bear), China Mac, Adam22, Lupe, and former federal prosecutor Michael Freedman.

Part 2, which is in the works, will focus on Crip Mac's paranoid schizophrenia, and Part 3 will focus on the California probation restrictions which essentially set him up for failure.

We are also considering raising funds to get him a decent Fed lawyer, but aren't sure if that is even worth it given the federal conviction rate. What do you guys think? Is fundraising worth it, and furthermore -- is this an appropriate cause to drive donations for?

Let me know.

Much Love

- AC

I agree, but someone with paranoid schizophrenia dismissing that diagnosis at some point isn't entirely out of left field (especially if the care/attention or medication to address it is inadequate). That said, I'm not very familiar with him past this most recent series of videos

Max

just watched the original crip mac video, really happy with the more serious direction you've been going. i hope you won't completely cut out the humor but these topics do deserve to be presented with care

Spags

albeit i vote for crip mac to be free, I think the case is pure bullshit against him (seemingly), your story there about his schizophrenia is something kinda weird 'cus even though there is him saying that and all, he literally dismissed it in another of your videos (your interview with him or something when you ask him about it)

MySelf69

May 5th 2025. Hope he'll be there on this exceptional date

Love this content, important statement on the realities of our broken prison system. Love that you decided to raise money, his suggested sentencing is ridiculous. Thank you again Andrew for making content that is essential for dismantling broken systems and calling attention to those who are truly victims of it.

Ava Eszenyi

Justice for crip mac ! He’s such a large social figure i believe the case would Make ripples for him but also a symbol I think this is a story more people need to know and i will donate to get him a lawyer keep sharing this story andrew

benji

Have y’all read that a lot of people are now not pleading guilty in hopes to back up the court system so much to get their cases dropped. I think its more on the state level tho. Either way still interesting. If I find the news article I’ll post on discord

Stephanie

Focus on getting him a good lawyer, not to win the case, but to negotiate the best plea possible. He ain’t going to win a federal case.

Aaron Sebastian

There’s never shame in asking people to help the less fortunate. If he can’t win in court, he could at least use the money for his commissary account

Prisons = Slave Labor. They work for big companies like Boeing. Prison industrial complex is this very simple pipeline. Making it easy to arrest and imprison people with longer sentences allows prisons to make money and companies who hire prison laborers to cut their human cost to almost $0. I won't get into who benefits, because it's a complex web of legalized corruption. But the effect is that arrests are less about keeping the streets safe and are more about legalized long term capture. Prisons are less about rehabilitation and re-entry into society and more about lengthening sentences and increasing recidivism. Courts become less about accurately judging cases, and more about cutting court costs and increasing overall prison sentences. On and on. The payoff is, cops get bonuses, overtime, and salary increases. Prison owners get government contracts for housing prisoners and corporate contracts for leasing prisoners as labor. Companies get to cut the yearly cost of a worker from like 20-50000 to about 500-1000. Judges and politicians I can't really tell you because it's not documented, but at a bare minimum they get high salaries, on other aspects they get to affect the political system in ways that benefit any investments they have if they choose, and it's speculated but not proven that many political figures and appointees work really hard to devote themselves to the party they are a part of to keep those appointments by giving quid pro quo benefits to people that helped get them in power, as well as potentially taking backroom bribes. In the end it's a system of cooperation that allows oppressors to make a lot of money. Not to mention that stripping people of rights due to criminal activity goes against the fundamental philosophy behind the constitution and the American Revolution. The entire idea the country was founded on is that most laws are wrong, and we're constantly improving them as we become a smarter and more worldly society. So almost always, something morally necessary will be illegal and if you strip any sort of right such as gun ownership, search and seizure, right to a trial, right to minimum wages, right to vote, etc, you are essentially cementing power in the hands of evil people by allowing them to criminalize resistance, and you are preventing the necessary revolutions the founding fathers expected us to do over time.

Martin Lynn

are the commenters here really saying they are in favor of mentally ill felons to carry around untraceable firearms??? Being in favor of 2nd amendment doesn't mean there cannot be laws to interpret that state by state. The first step is...Mac didn't grow up in gang life, he was an idiot who went looking for it to be cool. Look up the videos on youtube that expose him being fake. Next, he got his own ass in trouble and then got his own ass in jail again by carrying guns when he already forfeited that right. Everyone thinks this is just some poor black dude that everyone is hell bent on making his life terrible and the reality is he is to blame for where he is at. Take some personal responsibility. I mean dude isn't even from the hood in the first place!

What the fuck clicked this expecting this to be another fun and a bit sad crip Mac vid and ended up getting super pissed off. That’s insane these sentencing guidelines are unconstitutional and crip Mac has serious mental problems and a heart of gold that should be taken into account :(( my boy is an angel

It's truly heartbreaking seeing the ignorance and acceptance of abuse of power by thinly-veiled racists here. I genuinely feel pity for each and every one of you. You don't even realize how racist and misguided you all are.

All these fucked up systems, governmental and social, just chew mentally ill people like C-Mac up. Big homie is a goldfish in a blender. I’d throw a Benny to help lawyer him up.

Swampy

For real they’re going way out on a limb. Crip Mac has always seemed pretty crazy and he has a face tattoo that says he’s a killer. Most Americans would not look at this case and think that man did nothing wrong. He chose to become the online face of the crips and got exactly what could be expected for bragging about gang affiliation online.

Swampy

What does that mean?

Swampy

Dang very observant

Swampy

I think it’s a case of their friend getting caught up in something. Hard not to be biased. Also though Andrew is under fire from the leftists for not pushing a political agenda while platforming hate speech and some SA shit I’m not super clear on the specifics of, so I think the new political angle could be from that pressure.

Swampy

Brother, Hammurabi’s code isn’t the way. If retribution and punishment solved our problems we wouldn’t have any left.

Swampy

I got it today, thanks!

Ben LeMoine

Damn you really out here painting every single cop with the same broad ass brush and color, implicit bias runs deep in your veins huh.

lilsand

You’re going around this post wishing other people death and harm. You’re mentally sick in the head. Get help. You’re not normal.

Alex

Then don’t accept the probation conditions and stay in jail longer. How is it supposed to work? You commit a crime, get locked up, and choose when to come out and on what conditions? If he was given a choice to surrender his right to owning a firearm (let alone an illegal one) as well as his privacy in return for early release then it’s his choice to be made. And it is on him to follow the conditions of his probation. I am not saying that Crip Mac is a good or bad person. It’s not for me to decide. But from what I’m seeing none of his rights were violated, and he chose to own a ghost gun which put him back in jail.

Alex

"He didn't have to accept his probation conditions if he didn't want to"... What world are you living in? What do you think his outcome would have been if he 'chose' not to accept, would it have been one that allowed him to be with his family? I think you're confusing 'free' choices with coercion. When you're down, the system kicks you and keeps on kicking you. That's the reality of the country we live in. Especially so when you're not able to afford to sway our subpar justice system with cashflow. To add to all that, you're missing the actual point of the video. Its displaying the absurdity of the mathematical point system that practically forces people to plead guilty if they ever want a chance at being released in the future. Its straight up bullying people into making choices that they don't want to, nor should have to make. And once again, you often don't have to make such choices if you have the cashflow to be able to hire a team of high end lawyers, which inevitably will find loopholes in the 'justice' system for you to get through the whole process as unscathed as possible. There is no fair trial process, that was the main point of this video. You are really lost if you think this is "Andrew showing bias". This is Andrew showing us how the system operates and how much injustice and lack of a fair choice is involved with it. None of what I said above is even including the type of life Crip Mac lives, it's not one where he can just safely walk around/be without a gun for self defense. Yes that type of life is his choice, but probably one of the only legitimate choices he thought he had in life, if circumstances were different in your existence and upbringing, you'd probably have made the choices he made too. Millions have and millions will continue to, adapting to our environment is what we do, it's as human as it gets.

lilsand

Thanks for the zine!

Miccalo

It's genuinely frightening how correct you think you are. But I get it, everyone else is wrong and nobody can tell you anything, the anti-logic that turned into a extinction event candidate for humanity. Now reject and deflect.

Miccalo

People like you are the reason why the 250 million Americans like me think people like Crip Mac need ghost gun enhancements on their charges. You are actively hurting his case and everyone who has a case like him when you talk like this. it's a very small community of people who think the way you do about cops, and everyone else in the entire country is afraid of you.

Lame Lade

Maybe one day your brother will be killed by an officer that will face no repercussions, while your family is forever broken. I truly hope it happens to you, and an innocent member of your family is killed by a cop. Then maybe you'll learn just how ignorant and delusional you are to so many other peoples reality. I truly wish the worst upon you in life, in hopes that it makes you become a better and more empathetic person.

Jason Sellers

A constitutional right which crip mac gave up as a condition of his probation. He didn’t have to accept his probation conditions if he didn’t want to. Constitutional rights have their limits too, for example we take away the right to own firearms from felons. Blatantly misrepresent the idea of a constitutional right is biased journalism, in my opinion.

Alex

Can you define fascism for me and how exactly my comment supports fascism? Or are you just talking out of your @ss because you’re upset by me criticizing Andrew’s biased approach to the topic?

Alex

except that isn't true at all lol

trythinking

everything in that person's comment is true, though. do some research.

trythinking

It's a constitutional right. Bad look to argue against it's merits when we are talking about a vulnerable person. Constitutional rights are almost always countermajoritarian, meaning there are statutory laws that ostensibly have majority public support which aim to limit constitutional rights.

Noah Mingus

I'm so happy that Andrew isn't a pig-loving fascist like some of the commenters here want him to be. It's really sad seeing people swallow the boot of fascism, while asking for more. People like you are the reason why Hitler rose to power, no hyperbole. The more I read your comment, you're actually disgusting and un-American. Next time an officer decides to violate a citizens rights, I pray it's your family that suffers. Maybe then you'll learn, but probably not. I truly pity the depths of your ignorance to these issues. Shame on you for trying to play to Andrews emotions with your fascist propaganda falling from your lying mouth. Go watch fox news if you don't like what he's doing, cop-loving filth.

Jason Sellers

Ghost guns play an important part in how we could solve so many of these issues with pigs. People need to get smarter and actually cook some bacon in 3D. ACAB. I truly believe from the bottom of my heart, that every time an officer is killed, an innocent life is saved. People don't like it when I say that, but it's the truth and I won't stop speaking my truth.

Jason Sellers

This is more than just a legal battle. The discontinuation of gang enhancements in Los Angeles County in 2020, due to concerns over prison overcrowding and increased recidivism, highlights a significant systemic flaw that continues at the federal level. Shedding light on Crip Mac's struggles, including his mental health challenges and the probation restrictions in California, further underscores the need for a robust legal defense. Raising funds for a competent federal lawyer is not just about trying to navigate a notoriously high federal conviction rate; it's about challenging a system that often seems predisposed against reform and rehabilitation. Supporting Crip Mac with adequate legal representation becomes a symbolic fight against these systemic inequalities. It's not just about the potential of winning his case; it's about advocating for change in a system that frequently falls short in fairness and justice. This cause is not only appropriate for fundraising but also necessary as a step towards highlighting and combating the systemic issues within our criminal justice system.

Andrew Parker

I would donate at minimum $20 to help Crip Mac's legal defense.

Mike Kent

I think we got scammed, brothers

Lincoln Skyler Fant

You aren’t getting extra punishment. You’re just forfeiting your choice of making a deal with the prosecutors.

Alex

Dang Andrew. You’re really showing your bias here, I’m sorry, it’s hard to watch. “It seems ridiculous to get arrested for possession of a firearm, which is guaranteed by 2nd amendment and is necessary for protection” Andrew, he was not allowed to own a firearm. Much less a ghost gun. These laws and procedures have been on the books for a long time, and with good reasoning too. Then you’re dunking on the legal system because prosecutors allow deals? It is not ridiculous for the prosecutors to allow the defendant a deal before trial. The defendant has a choice. I don’t know man. I liked the non-biased approach. This just feels like an opinion piece

Alex

I honestly don't have much hope for the guy after reading Live From Death Row by Mumia Abu-Jamal. The prison system is vile, even more so for an individual with mental health issues. They will break him even further. Makes me so sad that this country is failing to rehabilitate people like Crip Mac. Your interviews show he is deeply human like the rest of us, and he has a momma that loves him so much. The whole situation breaks my fucking heart man. This system was made to fuck up the lives of people like Crip Mac.

Crip Mac may meet the eligibility for the Federal Mental Health Courts Program: https://bja.ojp.gov/program/mental-health-courts-program/overview He'll be on a strict regimen while in the program, but it could divert him from doing significant incarnation time.

Alk3Catch22

Maybe the substance abuse can help his case re: mental illness ? Reduce time, send him to AA + psychiatric evaluation ? He’s already doing community service with the pizza runs, won’t be a stretch for him

I’d say we’ll feel like custers if we dont even try. Please set it up I’ll be happy to donate. Won’t let him go without giving it my best shot. C-Mac and you gave me joy, love, self understanding and helped my recovery. However I’d propose to seek consultation from expert federal attorney eg to negotiate the plea and get the best terms if that’s the wisest option

Nas

I did not (or it went to spam and I missed it)

I mean announcing gang affiliations on the internet while under investigation seems less than wise

It may be pointless to start a fundraiser to help CripMac beat an unbeatable case but I'd still donate because fuck that man. I'd also be happy to donate money to his books once he's in. If you're looking to help maybe you can work something out with MamaBear to help fund his commissary so the dudes at least having the best possible experience while he's locked up? Super sad that you can get extra punishment for exercising your constitutional rights for a fair trial! Shouldn’t be allowed

Sage

The "justice system " ruins people. The amount of people that are pressed into plea deals isn't talked about enough. On a side note the quick publication of pd cameras inadvertently leads to tabloid articles can destroy people. Look at Christina Revels-Glick, 34, of Savannah, Georgia how she killed herself after being released only to see herself getting shamed online. Cripmac needs released, and the justice system reformed every way possible.

Nick Cage

Yeah man like I feel bad for him but he's a felon with schizophrenia. He should in no way have a gun

Jackson

In short, I don't think it's worth spending a small fortune on a fed lawyer on a virtually unbeatable case, they will make sure he is an example because of who he is plus the political charge behind the federal gang enhancements. I wish him the best of luck nonetheless.

q coleman

In Florida the news can legally post local news stories that haven't even been proven to be true. Thats why you have so many cases of "Florida man". They defamed me with no repercussions

george

"Innocent til proven guilty" Yeah right! I had a case of my own in Florida where the cops said there was no crime scene and I was accuse of serious crime then I was found not guilty but I was all over the news as a criminal. Justice system is corrupt he's just another number to them. Hopefully we can get him out or get him a good attorney.

george

It’s easy to diagnose a broken arm visually, when it comes to a “broken” brain it’s not as easy but the signs are there. I see mental disorders like that. I’m sure if we were to do a MRI scan of his brain, schizophrenia affected it and he needs to be treated.

Kim

He’s mentally ill, he needs to be treated for that first. Sending him 5, 15 years to jail, would it really help a paranoid schizophrenic? He will come out the same or worse. Schizophrenia from what I studied damages the brain organically. White and grey matter is damaged.

Kim

Hey Andrew, I appreciate the level of production that you’re always able to do. As a Patreon supporter, I think since the beginning (I realize channel 5?us a business, but) I would like to suggest that you release these videos about Crip Mac ASAP on YouTube to get more awareness. In terms of fundraising, I’m sure there’s a top-of-the-line legitimate nonprofit. That’s so purpose is about what Crip Mac is going through . Maybe having them take on the case and Channel 5 just marketing for that, will do more good for not only Crip Mac but others in his situation.

Anthony Allen

I would donate to Crip Mac's legal expenses in a heartbeat

I am not from the US but I have been following your content for years. I love your recent turn, from funny clips to probably one of the best jurnalist of our generation. However, I think here you are probably making a mistake. I do think that the situation in the US of imprisoning so many people is fucked up, but the guy still had a gun on him as a fellon. I know that us citizens don't realize that for the rest of the world; this shit is crazy. I don't believe the situation with the guns is normal in the first place, but hey that's the way you like it and I have to respect it, but if somebody is "a danger to society" even by US standards and still holds a gun, without even a tracking code or anything, as a citizen I would like that to stop. Are they doing it the right way? Probably not. But you are walking a fine line. Curious on how you keep developing the story at this moment and see if you can convince me otherwise

As much as I love Crip Mac as an entertainer, I wouldn't bother raising money for him... it's basically just pissing into the wind with fed cases.
