Just a minor correction, Texas has a National Guard, and a State Guard. Andrew kept saying State Guard in the context that the president has authority over them, he doesn’t, only National Guard. The governor is the only person that can mobilize the State Guard. And the T patches, are the State Guard, hence why Biden hasn’t “withdrawn” them, since he has no authority to do so.

For real though the trick to losing weight isn't exercise, although it helps make you healthier, the trick is to eat less, and eat healthier foods. I think a lot of people mentally block this possibility out because they don't wanna give up the food they use to emotionally cope with life, but there is a better way. The exercise definitely helps keep your mental health elevated, I never slip into deep depressions anymore like I did when I was sedentary and feeling bad for myself

The problem with that is he would have to dedicate a while piece to the VA and how the government has taken money from it just about any time it needs to send money other places, the VA has always been historically underfunded and you cant cover everything to do with it in a video about the border. Its just not logical or fair to vetrens.

I think if you want to continue to elevate your journalism you need to add more fact checking. Is the VA underfunded? IDK! But you should look into it more than just moving along because it agrees with your already formed conceptions.

My uncle on the other hand forgot to do it, and convinced himself that he could no longer get them. Well 10 years later he goes and sees that he has nearly 600k waiting for him in payback. People mess up, wait too long, don't do it right, etc, but they are there. It might take an hour to get a hold of the VA on the phone, but you still can.

It's not because of immigration but the stock markets are almost completely decoupled from the economic reality of anyone middle class and below. 50% of Americans own only .5% of all stocks and 10% own 87% of all stocks. If companies start going bankrupt everyone would notice but short of that the stock market isn't that great of an indicator. Unemployment, inflation, and wealth inequality are better indicators. Unemployment and inflation are looking a lot better now, but wealth inequality is still increasing.

Balkanization is a completely different thing to mass immigration. Additionally, you're taking the common and fairly stupid view that immigration had much to do with the fall of Rome. Rome was literally always highly multi-ethnic, and they imported huge amounts of slaves from all over the empire to work in Italy. This incredibly lopsided economy was just one of the many, many problems that plagued the Roman empire from its earliest days, and led to multiple stages of collapse. There was an entire century between the principiate and the domitiate where there was no central authority in the empire at all. Those successor states you mentioned were almost always someone coming in to fill a power vacuum after the Roman state fell apart for one reason or another. The people that sacked Rome weren't anything like migrants that come in to the US, they were literally invading armies marching under generals.

As a National Guard soldier, I want to clear up some terminology that is actually important. National Guard is part time service with dual oath to state and federal government. You go through regular Army basic and initial entry training, can go to regular Army schools like Airborne or whatever. Same with Air Force National Guard. State Guard like what Desantis deployed only serves the state, and I would argue is a less professional force given that they don't go through federal military training, just whatever their state comes up with. Often times these dudes look barely more professional than right wing extremist militias. To summarize: National Guard: can take orders from State and Federal Government State Guard: only takes orders from their governor.

So people say “we welcome immigrants but only if they come in legally”. Ok so they mean that it’s best if immigrants first apply to a visa or asylum paper and only after they get an approval they should enter the US through an official port of entry. In theory this can be done already. But in practice the uscis department is so incredibly backed up, that this option is not viable at all for 90% of immigrants. This could be fixed but only with tax dollars being allocated to uscis

When you really disagree with someone it's super important to fully understand what they believe and how they arrived at those beliefs. So, it's great what c5 is doing here. The other really important thing to remember when dealing with anyone that you disagree with is that at our core most of us have the same core desires and just different ways of achieving and protecting those.... They are things like, safe shelter (a roof over your head), safety for our family/friends/selves, food to eat, clean water to drink... The things that undebatably we all want. If you can really understand that, it gets easier to understand and respect the people you disagree with. Same goals, different ideas for how to achieve them.
