My brother deployed to Eagle Pass last year, he's in Louisiana Army National Guard, he said that the border spot there is horrifying. One night he was posted to guard literal dead bodies of migrants, he told me that they would throw infants over about a mile down then send a group through while border forces are trying to tend to the kid. In the dead of night the only thing keeping them safe was NV, and they would still take on shots randomly. He has been deployed before but never saw action until he was deployed in the US. Also, the guardsmen are less equipped than everyone there. They were deployed with one plate(blocked small ballistics up to .45) and a M9 Beretta. They were also refused upon asking permission to bring their home kit(better plates, an actual rifle). He was shook up kinda bad when he came home, I couldn't imagine having to defend myself in the dark with just a handgun whilst being shot at with rifles. Once he and his unit left, then the news starting flooding Eagle Pass for coverage. Godspeed you guys, stay safe and we all appreciate your journalism.

The unequal power of Americans and Mexicans, as an American myself, fills me with an indignant rage. That one group of people are treated like criminals going into a war zone for wanting to cross over into what has historically been Mexico for several centuries up until just 175 years ago, Poland Spring water and Scientific American magazine are literally older than that border... another group of people can just walk in with no security checks or even checking their passports, you just have to pay a dollar to get in. Even bars or dance clubs have more checks than the people of another nation who stole half of their nation. And this is what MAGA calls an "open border", I can only imagine if they got their way, Mexicans/Central Americans would be treated like Palestineans in Israel.

Not necessarily a death sentence. A lot of these people could go back to a life of rural poverty. That’s not great, but they aren’t necessarily all fleeing from their lives. I know a lot of Guatemalans for instance and from my understanding they are here to earn better money. Not flee violence. Andrew’s previous videos from Arizona touched on how they are coached by coyotes to exploit the asylum system. I think we should find a way to let them come work and contribute regardless, but I think it’s not like the rest of the world is so crazy that being sent home is a death sentence.

I believe the reason Channel 5 news is able to get as close to the story as they do is because it truly is the peoples news. Now this is A++ journalism but seriously, you need better editors. It's possibly worth even re-uploading this video because the face at 11:22 + visible identifying tattoos is not a good look. Not being dramatic, you're playing with fire here and the utmost diligence is required, these are guys employed by billion dollar industries that specialize in murder and torture. They're putting their lives on the line because they're obviously fans. Common sense dictates this does not bode well for them if they say anything to piss off their employers in the next video, their identities can be very clearly determined from this video's footage if the right person looks at it.

Andrew mentioned in another episode how the USD is inflated heavily in other countries. They probably get sent money from family in the US. I know the guys I worked construction with would send nearly their entire paychecks back home to Mexico, Columbia, Honduras, and Guatemala. A lot of these guys I know have been working here for 25+ years, still sending money back home.

Also for people confused as to how people in poorer countries have 10-20k, i would assume it’s pooled income for one in the family to make it and then eventually for them to get the remaining family over with time. I continue to be completely puzzled: How do migrants from all over the world - who claim they are fleeing utter poverty, starvation - afford 10-20K thousand plus dollars to get here? Most US citizens would have a hard time coming up with that money.
