We've been working the past couple weeks on putting together footage from our interviews at Chicago's Parkway Gardens Homes, aka 'O Block,' where 'Drill Music' began in 2011 with rappers like Chief Keef, Durkio, and beyond.
This video features interviews with Boss Top, G Nuk and Shoebox Baby, as well as the beginning of confrontation with DJ Akademiks in regard to his coverage of 'Chiraq' gang politics shortly after the Drill wave kicked off.

It honestly makes me want to do something similar over here and explore the similar subcultures that we have here….. because growing up, America was always held as the pinnacle of everything to us.. but now being in my mid 30’s, it’s so evident as to how truly problematic the US is and has been for a long time.. not to say Australia is perfect, because it certainly isn’t, but it’s kinda like as you get older and you realise that your parents are just normal people, not gods. That’s what happened to me over the last ten years with the US. In particular after my first visit in 2012, and now through videos like Andrew’s and the gang. It’s absolutely fascinating and inspiring. Can I be the Channel 5 (Australian branch)? I have MANY ideas!
