February Reconstruction??

January was an upgrade, so February is a new one you haven't heard before!

Not every month can be a "big" band like The Beachles Boys, and there's a number of reconstructions that fall to the wayside.  Here's a few that I really like, but will probably keep losing out to The Big Names, you know?

Grrrrrrrrrr, I'm running late! I wanted to get this one out yesterday (on leap year day!!) but, alas, I didn't finish in time. Blame Dune 2!! February's reconstruction will be out today, I assure you!

Thanks for the reply. As far as the possible 1970 album goes, not only do you have 8 or so songs they recorded that year, but also some leftovers from Tommy (at least Dogs Part 2 and Young Man Blues), and Pete was recording his first solo albums for Baba Meher at the time. Although unlikely he would have wanted to use those songs with Who, there is a bunch acoustic stuff there too, to be used if necessary. So, more than enough for a full LP between Tommy and WN.

I will eventually upgrade my Lifehouse-- although it will largely be the same configuration. I did some test sequences and I think my sequence I resolved at was the best it could be (imo) in regards to narrative vs song continuity. I will probably swap out a lot of the mixes though. I was also thinking of getting the boxset itself to see if a reconstruction that follows the graphic novel would be feasible. Same for Who's Lily and Who's For Tennis; but frankly, I'm just sort of burnt out on upgrading those two lol, and just want to give it some time. I never thought of reconstructing the 1970 EP since it just was mostly recycled into Lifehouse, but, I suppose I could. I'll look into it.

As far as upgrades go, anything planned for the Who after the releases of super deluxe Who's Next and Sell Out? There is a 1970 Who album still to be made (although it might require retouching of your Lifehouse album). (Yes, I'm aware of your Tommy video project.)

Wait, if you CAN see this very post you are replying to, YOU ARE IN.

Jesse Miller

There isn't an actual link. It simply "unhides" posts that are tagged with Keys to The Kingdom. So you should be able to see ALL of my posts here, instead of only a few. Can you confirm?

Jesse Miller

I know of course! And DL a couple a things.. but still not able to enter The Kingdom.. No link for that..

Karl Johan Gilberg

Karl, I already did weeks ago. Check your email.

Jesse Miller

I ask the same as ivan TW : i have become a member in Keys to the Kingdom... i also need a link to the archives - Can you send me that link too?

Karl Johan Gilberg

Not a problem, thanks much!

Ivan T.W.

I appreciate this point of view, and this was something that crossed my mind last week. I will probably have a non-voting month at somepoint.

Jesse Miller

Yep, just sent you a link via email. Sorry for the delay!

Jesse Miller

I vote Zaireeka, but any of em'll be good! Also, I recently signed up for the Keys to the Kingdom tier. Is there a link to the archives I should be watching out for? Thanks!

Ivan T.W.

I agree. Surprise us!!

Robert Hull

I'm not voting this month. (I'd probably vote for Nazz if I did, or maybe Van Morrison, but I don't feel that strongly about either.) I miss the surprise. One of the things I liked about ATNW was the element of surprise--what will the next album be? I mean, I'd reconstructed Get Back and RIP myself, but the thought of a second United States of America album never crossed my mind, and the ATNW reconstruction is now one of my favorites. (So is your reconstruction of RIP, by the way; I'd love to see the upgrade.) Even seeing missing albums from bands I'd never thought that much about (Shellshocked?) was fun--new horizons and all that. I like the concept of alternating between new reconstructions and upgrades, but what about a surprise slot somewhere where you just pick something and throw it out at us? I know voting is one of the privileges of the new system, but I'm feeling a bit dissatisfied with the direction somehow. I mean, I am enjoying your work, or else I wouldn't be here, but I do like some of the unexpected things that turned up here in the past. Stuff I might never have voted for, maybe, that turns out to be interesting.

Honestly I'm a bit surprised to be voting with the majority this time! I've only recently started listening to Nazz--was definitely missing out.
