Reconstructor's Commentary: The Beatles "Get Back"

Here's my first attempt at a sort of "Director's Commentary" on one of my reconstructions. Thought I'd start with arguably my first ever reconstruction, The Beatles' "Get Back". Let me know if you want more of these, or what the next should be! Please excuse all the 'um's, I'm sure my podcast talents will eventually percolate!
Also: I made some speakos: I said Geoff Emerick, when I meant Glyn Johns (D'oh!). I also completely skipped over "Teddy Boy" for some reason. Oh well.

I did mention I toyed with a number of different versions/iterations before resolving on this current one; a direct upgrade to the live/studio sides reconstruction (but with ATMP taking the place of I Me Mine on Side A) was one of those. But ultimately, I didn't like it as much. I ditched it for two reasons: 1) As I mentioned, I was more interested in what The Beatles originally intended for Get Back, before scrapping and moving on to Abbey Road, as evidenced in PJ's documentary. After viewing, I don't think a dual live/studio album was what was intended; the live set was a consequence of recording live in the studio, not the endgame. The endgame was a studio-recorded album, albeit played mostly live. 2) For my reconstructions, it really has to do about "the feel". Ultimately, all the different possible permutations of this Get Back I was looking at (iirc Let It Be de-Spectorized, Live/Studio, John Lennon's Tracklist, the final one I released and an alternate running order of it) were judged on how it made me feel. And the one that I released, had the most comfy feel to me. That's the best way I can describe it, I suppose-- My affinity for these sessions can only be described as such: comfy and nostalgiac. It's certainly not their best album, but it's such a warm, comfy, Sunday Morning Album, if that makes sense. And my final version more closely resembled that feel. But with ALL THAT SAID, I guess I have no reason not to stream these alternate cuts for my highest Patreon tier. ;)
