Added 2025-11-20 17:00:17 +0000 UTCHey Tamers! This development short will go into a bit more detail about the rework of our node system! This update adds flags, which are going to be the proper form of our nodes. They'll work the same as the original node system but build off the original idea a bit more.
The first change, a notable color rework to make important flags easily readable while roaming around the map.
Current Flags
[ Yellow ] : Transition flag ( used in leaving towns, caves, etc... )
[ Blue ] : Character's location or interactable building ( used for initiating conversation and accessing shops [coming later], the guild, and more )
In Development Flags
[ Red ] : Unexplored flag
[ Green ] : Previously explored flag ( used by the player to make backtracking easier, battles will only initiate if player forces a battle, however more testing is needed )
Just for the purpose of a video demonstration, red and green flags are lumped together as white.
Flags also have a slight hover animation, more will be added onto the hovering of flags as well, but for the moment it expands to make the game less static looking and a better initial impression for first time players.
Another small touch on flag visuals, the flag under the player on will lower its opacity and remain completely functional for battle forcing.
Flags will also be getting new notification symbols, instead of the ' ! ' it will be replaced by a better visual to its respective purpose. For instance, quest related notifications will be represented by a book and quill ( this symbol could change or look slightly different ); with a different animation and possibly other aesthetic visuals to better guide the player while the notification is not active.
