A Glimpse Into the Future

OK, here we go. IDK what's up, but looks like the formatting got messed up again. At least its here to read though!

A Glimpse Into the Future

By Brimmingbelly04

***

Cody sat on the bottom stair tying his shoes. Re-tying them, because he'd already done so successfully after putting them on a few minutes ago, he just needed something to do while he waited.

Something to do to keep from shouting up the stairs to his husband, Edgar, asking what was taking him so long? Not only would doing so be pointless as he knew what the issue was, it would also be ill-advised.

Edgar's hormones were at a near dangerous high, so it didn't take much to set him off now. Cody had learned this the hard way…

They weren't in any rush, the twenty-nine year old just didn't like waiting. As a firefighter, Cody should've been used to it because most of his shifts were spent waiting around for the next call to come into the station. But all that waiting he did at work was rewarded with excitement… The thrill of almost never knowing what was to come next.

In a way, the same could be said for he and Edgar's home life. While a lot had already changed, to Cody, anyway, it felt like they'd been doing a lot of waiting for their next thrill… The thrill of becoming parents for the first time, three times over.

Edgar was pregnant with triplets. Seven months along, which meant they had some more waiting to do before they got to experience the parental thrill of not exactly knowing what to expect next. For Cody, sometimes said wait could be excruciating, such as now, but because he wanted their day to continue on along in the good note it'd started, other than to sigh, the impatient twenty-nine year old kept quiet as he looked down at his now perfectly tied shoes.

Expert-level as his he'd redone his laces, to keep his mouth shut and his hands and mind somewhat busy, he was about to undo them again, but then he heard and felt something… First, he heard his husband approach the top of the stairs, then he felt him start to descend them.

Even all the way down at the bottom, his stair registered each of its brethren Edgar slowly and carefully took, causing Cody to smirk. Now that his current wait was almost over, but more so because in a few more seconds, he'd be in his fecund husband's way, he stood and turned around, making sure to keep that small smile on his handsome face in hopes of earning some brownie points.

All hopes he had were quickly dashed when he saw Edgar's face and noted how his eyes briefly rolled back. The combination indicated something was wrong, but what, Cody had no idea..?

“You're the worst,” his thirty-one year old husband groaned. “You know that, right?” He huffed as he continued his slow descent.

“What did I do now?!” The firefighter asked with a huff of his own before he could stop himself from doing either.

“You… got up!”

“I… got up?” He repeated with a frown.

“Without grunting, huffing… groaning or using your… hands!” Edgar huffed, rolling his eyes again as he reached the staircase's halfway point.

Once again, Cody was unable to help himself. His smirk, which had faded, returned full force, quickly becoming a big grin as he looked up at his radiant husband.

Edgar's eyes widened but then just as quickly, narrowed. “What?”

Cody giggled. Big, strong and macho as he was, he was little more than a giant, overgrown kid. Most of the time, Edgar loved that about his hunky, younger husband, but now wasn't one of them.

“Aww, babe…” the firefighter cooed. “I'm sorry.”

“For what? For being physically capable or for almost taking that away from me?”

“You're still very physically capable,” he disagreed. “Think of all the positions you were able to get into last night!” He wagged his brows, the left of which was slightly shorter than the right, having been singed off one too many times in the line of duty despite all his protective gear.

Edgar's eyes widened again but this time, as he reached the bottom of the staircase, they thankfully stayed that way.

“Oh, I remember…” he nodded, still holding onto the banister.

“Good,” Cody went back to smirking. “I would've been hurt and mad if you hadn't.”

“You can't get hurt!” Edgar replied. “That was in our vows!”

Cody stopped smirking. Briefly, his lips formed such a straight line, he could've been that emoji.

“I was talking about emotionally, not physically,” he shook his head. “I have no plans of…”

“Ugh!” Edgar groaned. “Why'd I have to marry a firefighter?”

“Because you love me so much…”

“Some good that does me! All I do is worry about your safety, especially now!” He frowned. “Do you know how stressful that is?!”

“I have an idea,” Cody nodded solemnly. Now wasn't the time to be cute or silly. “Like I said in my vows, I can't promise you I'll never get hurt, but I did promise I'd do my best not to, and I still do,” he nodded some more as he reached out for his husband's hand.

Edgar took it with a sigh and another roll of his eyes, then proceeded forward at a waddle.

“That's not ideal…” he continued to frown as he looked up at Cody. “Why can't you do something like me?”

Cody chuckled. “We both know I'd make a shit florist.”

“You're good at helping with set up, especially hanging stuff and carrying heavy things.”

“True, but that doesn't make me a good florist.”

“I'm not talking about you being a florist. I'm talking about you doing something safe,” Edgar continued. “Something that wouldn't have me worried about you all the time!” He stressed.

“I am doing something like you,” Cody gently disagreed. “I'm doing something I love.”

His husband groaned again. “How can you love it?” He asked as he squeezed his hand.

The twenty-nine year old shrugged. “I just do. But I love you and the babies more,” he playfully winked, even though his words couldn't have been any more serious.

Earnest as they were, Edgar could've easily used his husband's words against him considering how hormonal he was, but wisely chose not to. He too wanted their day to continue on a good note so he just smiled up at Cody and squeezed his hand again as he said,

“And we love you too.”

The twenty-nine year old grinned as he leaned in for a kiss. As he did, his other hand found Edgar's belly, the lowest third of which was exposed, and gave it a loving rub.

“Ready to go?” He asked as he pulled back.

“Yeah, I guess…” Edgar sighed.

“We don't have to go as far as we did last week,” Cody shook his head.

“It's not that,” his husband shook his. “I want to go as far as I can, it's just…”

“Yeah..?”

“I look ridiculous!” The thirty-one year old groaned. “Look how much belly I'm showing!” He groaned again as he took his hand back and cupped his swell. “And look at my tits!”

“I am…” Cody giggled, already eyeing the mentioned mounds, which were packed tightly in the sports bra Edgar had on under his too small sleeveless tee.

“I look like I'm about to blow!”

“No, you don't,” he disagreed.

“I ordered some more bigger stuff, but it hasn't shipped yet,” the thirty-one year old frowned as he tugged in vain at his tee, trying to make it cover more than it could.

“You look fine,” Cody insisted.

“I'm glad one of us thinks so!”

“Shall we head out?” He asked as he turned and reached for his hand again.

“Do I have a choice?” Edgar grumbled.

“No,” Cody chuckled. “Dr. Parker wants you to keep as active as possible,” he said as he led them towards the front door.

“And I have no problem with that,” Edgar said as Cody stepped ahead and opened it for him. “I know it helps, I just don't like showing off so much!” He groaned as he waddled outside.

“Well I do!” His husband chuckled again as he closed and locked the door behind them. “I like showing off what I did to you!”

“I know you… do,” the thirty-one year old quietly grunted as he carefully maneuvered the two front steps. “Perv…”

“Takes one to know one!” Cody said, linking their hands again as they started down their walk at a pace he let Edgar set. “Which way?” He asked when they reached the sidewalk.

Edgar pulled him to the left. “To the park.”

“I knew it.”

“No, you didn't!”

“Oh, yes I did!” Cody laughed. “And don't bother asking… Yes, I brought my wallet!”

“I wasn't going to, and you didn't have to.”

“Did you bring yours?”

“No.”

“Then I did! Who else is gonna pay for your ice cream?”

Edgar scoffed. “I didn't say anything about ice cream!”

“Um, yes you did! Last week when we went, you told me to bring cash next time so you could get some!” Cody reminded.

His husband grunted. “I don't remember that.”

“Yes, you do!”

“I don't,” Edgar insisted. “Pregnancy brain is…”

“Not a thing.”

“If you say so…”

“I do,” Cody nodded as they continued slowly down their street.

They only lived a couple blocks from the park, but at the rate they were going, it would be several minutes before they got there. The twenty-nine year old wasn't complaining though… It was a beautiful day, he was off, and he was spending time with his special guy.

His very pregnant, special guy.

Cody hadn't been kidding when he told Edgar he liked showing him off. Liked for everyone to see what he'd done to him.

Prior to knocking his husband of three years up, he honestly hadn't had much of an opinion on pregnancy. As far as Cody was concerned, it was a part of life, something “special” but more so necessary they (Edgar) had to experience so they could go from a couple to a family.

As a firefighter, he'd encountered a good deal of preggos of both genders, usually when they were in labor or some other stressful situation. Once, Cody had even assisted an EMT in delivering a baby. As a result, he'd always considered the condition more clinically, never sexually. At least not till Edgar got pregnant…

Things changed then. Now that his husband had a baby belly and his body was (further) changing to accommodate it, Cody had come to look at pregnancy (theirs, anyway) in a different light. A red one, some might say.

Aside from a bit of an awkward start, when Edgar just looked (and felt) bloated and did not want to be touched, let alone looked at, things had been and continued to be quite good for both of them. While the florist did so reluctantly at first, as soon as he realized his hunky, fire fighting husband not only accepted, but seemed to like all the physical changes he was experiencing, he stopped grumbling and started to embrace them as well.

That was good because seven months later, Edgar's body had changed a lot, and he still had two months (give or take, hopefully take) to go.

***

Despite it being unseasonably cool for a late August day, how leisurely their pace was, and the fact he was exposing more skin than he would've preferred, by the time they made it to the park, Edgar had worked up a light sweat. As they transitioned from the sidewalk onto the tree-lined path, the thirty-one year old took his hand from his husband's and placed it low on his back with his other.

“You doin' OK..?” Cody asked, hoping he didn't sound concerned or judgmental, because honestly, he was being neither.

Honestly, he was just making sure. As much as it would infuriate him physically, he'd be happy to slow their pace even further, but knew better than to suggest it. He just wanted Edgar to be comfortable.

Or as comfortable as he could now be.

The florist nodded, briefly closing his eyes as he stretched and arched his shoulders back, thrusting his three babies-filled belly further out ahead of him. Of both of them.

“I'm… good.”

“There's a bench over there…” Cody literally pointed out.

Edgar shook his head. “I wanna do a… lap around the pond before I… sit.”

“Sounds good,” Cody nodded before oh so carefully adding, “Just remember, we still have to…”

“Get home. I know.”

“I can always run back, grab the car and…”

“Actually… I wanna do a… lap and a quarter,” Edgar cut him off as they reached the pond and he made a wide turn to the right in front of it.

“Why a lap and a quarter?” The twenty-nine year old asked with a chuckle as he came to a stop, hoping his husband wouldn't notice, which thankfully, he didn't.

“So we can stop… there,” Edgar was the one to point this time, taking his right hand from his lower back and pointing to the ice cream stand still twenty or so yards away ahead of them.

“I should've known…”

It was only when Cody spoke again that his husband realized he was no longer next to him. That didn't stop Edgar, but it did cause him to turn and look over his shoulder with a frown.

“What're you doing back…” he started to ask before rolling his eyes and whipping his head back forward.

He knew why Cody had stopped. To ogle his ass and watch how it not only bounced up and down with every step, but gobbled up even more of his mesh “workout” shorts in the process.

Before getting pregnant, Edward's ass had been thicc, with two “c's.” The pregnancy had caused it to thicken additionally, mostly with muscle, but also with a generous layer of “baby weight,” which had only made his husband even more obsessed with it.

“Get back over here!” He beckoned before returning his hand to his back and adding under his breath, “Pervert…”

“I'm your pervert,” Cody said as he “hurried” forward and wrapped his arm around his widened waist.

As soon as his arm made contact, Edgar groaned again, this time in relief. “More pressure, please.”

Immediately, the twenty-nine year old complied. As he gently took a slightly better grip on his husband's already bulging left hip, he pressed his thickly muscled, heavily tatted forearm, harder against his lower back, right above his fattened ass.

“Ohmygod, yesss…” the shorter man moaned as he pressed back a little more.

“Good, huh?” Cody smirked, quite proud of himself, and then even more so when he looked from his husband to further down the path and noted all the attention they were getting.

He and Edgar were both lookers so he couldn't take all the credit. Cody could however (and silently did) take credit for the reason everyone headed their way, were now blatantly eyeing them. Or so he thought…

The young and sexy, beefy and tatted firefighter assumed everyone was looking at them because of how big Edgar was. They all probably thought he was days away from birthing a “healthy” set of twins, but no.

The florist had another baby inside him, and had another two months (give or take, hopefully give,) of growing left to do. Everyone they passed and continued to approach was impressed by the waddling preggo's partially exposed belly as well as his deep and pronounced cleavage, but those weren't the only reasons they were paying the handsome, expectant couple lots of attention…

“Oh wow, another one!” A guy walking the other direction said to his wife or girlfriend, his eyes glued to Edgar's belly.

“He's not as big,” the woman said as she too stared at the orb.

Edgar was used to the attention he got and given his current size and ill-fitting top, expected to receive more than usual on today's walk, so he hardly noticed the looks. What the couple said hadn't even registered as he waddled on, grateful for Cody's literal support.

“Congratulations!” An older man walking his small dog offered a little further on, before adding under his breath, “Must be something in the water today!”

That Edgar heard, but didn't think anything of it. The congrats, he appreciated, but the water part?

Older people could get confused and say random things, kind of like overgrown toddlers. He hoped he wouldn't start doing that some day, or at least not for a while. Not till he and Cody's kids would be happy to help take care of them.

The next person to make a comment was a small boy, probably around the age of four. He was standing between his dads, holding their hands when he saw the thirty-one year old's belly and his eyes bulged much like it did.

“Look!” He shouted as he yanked his right hand free. “Another one!” He said just as loud as he pointed, you know where.

“Daniel!” His father to his right exhaled as he quickly grabbed his hand back. “I'm so sorry!” He apologized to Edgar with an embarrassed laugh. “You know how kids can be!”

“Not yet, but you're fine,” Edgar winked before looking down at Daniel and smiling at him.

In just a couple of months, he and Cody would have three babies. Excited as he was, the thirty-one year old still worried sometimes about how daunting raising triplets would be. It was getting more and more daunting just carrying them, but he was happy.

Well, mostly…

Sometimes Edgar got a little sad when he remembered this was going to be the only time he'd be pregnant. It hadn't been all sunshine and lollipops, and more challenges were sure to present themselves in the final months, but now that he knew what it felt like to literally be filled with life, the thirty-one year old was pretty sure he was going to miss it, not that he was going to have the time…

Three kids, all the same age, was going to be a lot to manage. On top of that, Cody and Edgar both worked full-time. Adding triplets into the mix would be stressful to say the least, but worth it in the end. That said, adding any more children to their soon-to-be brood was a definite no.

Edgar hadn't told Cody, nor did he plan to, but sometimes he wished his first pregnancy had been a “normal” one, aka one that resulted in only one baby. He'd always assumed that would be the case and that he'd have to be pregnant two or three times to get their family to the size they wanted, but no.

As it turned out, one (big) pregnancy and done. Even though said pregnancy had yet to conclude, the soon-to-be birthing father of three couldn’t help feeling a little cheated. It was quite possible (and likely) he'd no longer feel that way while his presumably only pregnancy reached its conclusion, but till if and when, yeah, somewhat gypped…

***

Cody sighed quietly as he gently squeezed his husband's hip.

“In a few years, we'll have three of those… Three walking and talking kids, can you believe it?”

“Is it too late to return them?”

“Babe!” Cody scoffed as he squeezed him a little harder.

“Obviously, I'm teasing!” Edgar chuckled. “In just a couple months, we'll have three, not walking, not talking, wriggly, crying babies to constantly feed and change!”

His fire fighting husband groaned. “We can't skip that stage, can we?”

“No, we cannot.”

“Shit…”

“Still feeling all big and machismo about how pregnant you got me?”

“Oh, but of course!” Cody nodded, further puffing up and out his already formidable, tatted chest, straining his own top almost as much as his special guy was his, but with muscle rather than milk.

“What if you just kept ‘em in there?” He asked with a shrug of his broad shoulders.

“Excuse me?”

“Think you could manage that?” Cody questioned.

As he did, he smirked and gave a “bro nod” to a passing jogger. A big and beefy bear of a man in his early forties, who kept rapidly looking between him and Edgar. Cody noticed the guy looked him up and down, but when he looked at his husband, his gaze locked on his middle before briefly darting up to the two large, tightly packed and lightly bouncing, milk-filled tits sitting atop it.

Yeah, I did that, Cody said to himself as his smirk grew.

“Manage what?” Edgar asked.

“Keeping the trips in you till they're out of their pesky baby stage.”

“Pesky baby stage?!”

“Now I'm teasing!” Cody laughed. “Well, not about the baby stage being pesky,” he admitted.

“It's gonna be a lot,” Edgar sighed in agreement as he waddled on. “But we'll get through it,” he sighed again, already tired just thinking about it.

They were going to be outnumbered. They already were, but once the triplets were born, it would be different. Their hands would be full rather than his belly, which still had quite some filling to do.

“Sure you don't wanna stop now?” Cody asked as they finally reached the ice cream stand.

“We just got here!”

“It's not a competition,” he gently reminded. “We're just out to enjoy a…”

“Oh, wow!” Edgar suddenly said.

“Kick? Punch? Roll?” Cody asked, eagerness clearly evident in his tone.

Unlike his husband, he still always got excited when the babies moved. He got even more so if he got to feel whatever commotion was taking place for himself, but unfortunately for the firefighter, now wasn't one of those times.

“No,” Edgar shook his head, keeping his eyes trained further down the path. “Look!” He said, not yelled as he discreetly pointed with his chin, unlike young Daniel.

“Look at…” Cody started to ask but soon saw what had caught his husband's attention.

More accurately, who had…

Not to be rude, but now that he’d been spotted, he was impossible to miss. Even from many yards away, it was evident the man was even more pregnant than Edgar. Much more.

“Oh, wow!” The firefighter was the one to say this time.

“Please, tell me I’m not that big?!” Edgar practically begged.

“You’re not,” Cody shook his head as he continued to stare at the first man he’d seen in at least two months who was more pregnant than his husband.

“Thank God!” The thirty-one year old sighed in short-lived relief before anxiously questioning him again. “You don’t think I’ll get that big, do you?”

Cody honestly had no idea. Already, Edgar was bigger than he thought he’d end up getting, and he was only one month into his final trimester, during which babies do their most growing.

He shook his head as he replied aloud, “I don’t think so. Silently, he added to himself, “But I wish you would!”

Edgar chuckled quietly. “Now I feel like I have to say hi.”

“You feel that strong, gravitational pull too?” The twenty-nine year old teased. “You should definitely say hi,” he nodded. “More than that, actually.”

“Why do you say that?” Edgar asked as he started fidgeting with the hem of his shirt again.

Not that it was any cause for concern, but he was unaware his younger husband’s newfound appreciation of pregnancy extended beyond his/theirs. Even before getting married, Cody and Edgar had been exclusive (and always would be,) but they could look, just like everyone does whether they admit it or not.

And now that he was seeing someone with an even bigger belly than the one he’d played a role in creating, and now that he realized just how much he liked/loved big baby bellies, Cody was looking and wanted a closer view. But obviously, he couldn’t tell Edgar that!

“I mean given the… circumstances,” he continued. “It’d be kinda weird if you just said hi,” he shugged.

Edgar groaned as he stopped fussing with his hem, moved his hands and started fussing with the amount of cleavage he was showing. In trying to better cover it, he immediately undid what little improvement he’d made down below.

“Everyone’s gonna look at us!”

“Everyone already is, babe, or did you somehow fail to…”

“I’ve noticed!”

“OK then,” Cody shrugged. “No reason to not stop and chat. I’m sure he’d appreciate it.”

“You think?” Edgar frowned. “I don’t wanna annoy him.”

“I don’t think you will,” his husband said as he moved his hand to the center of his back and gave it a tender rub.

“Oh God…” he suddenly groaned again, making Cody worry he’d left him in pain taking away the support of his arm, but that wasn’t the issue. “I think we’ve been spotted… More accurately, me!”

Sure enough, the other preggo was now looking directly at them as well. So was the large man standing next to him, who was presumably his husband.

Edgar’s suspicion was confirmed when the bigger preggo took his left hand from that side of his belly, raised it, and waved at them. At him.

“Yeah, he saw us…” Cody said through his teeth as he smiled and waved back for the both of them. The five of them, rather. “Ready to go make the kids their first friends?” He asked his husband.

“Huh…” Edgar grunted. “Arranging playdates before they're even born.”

“Maybe?” The firefighter said as he wrapped his arm around his waist again. “Only one way to find out!”

***

It took another minute or so before the preggos and their partners were in front of one another. Everyone nearby stopped what they were doing to watch, curious to witness this odd, yet seemingly destined meeting.

“I feel like I'm looking in the mirror a few months ago!” The older, bigger preggo chuckled as he rubbed the top of his massive swell.

“Hahaha!” Edgar laughed anxiously but otherwise didn't respond.

Cody picked up his slack. “Kinda feels like I'm getting a glimpse of Edgar's future!”

Everyone laughed. Everyone except Edgar. He didn't want to get that big! He wasn't going to, right?! He needed to know…

“How many are you having?” He asked as he eyed the bigger swell warily.

“Four.”

He couldn't help but let out a loud sigh of relief. “Only three.”

“When are you due?” Cody asked.

“You mean, when was he due,” the other preggo's husband replied with a chuckle.

“You're overdue?!” Edgar asked, eyes widening.

Given the size of the guy, it made sense, but it also made him feel slightly sick. He didn't know how he'd manage being pregnant a second longer than necessary. Not with triplets, so forget about quads!

The older man nodded somewhat solemnly as he continued rubbing his swell. He and his husband looked to be in their late thirties, both quite handsome, but with a bit more “wear and tear…” Slightly receding and graying hairlines, the beginnings of crows feet, things like that.

Both were tall, the preggo, the smaller (in height) of the two, just an inch or so shorter than Cody, compared to Edgar's five. His husband had a couple inches on the firefighter and at least 30 lbs.

“Four days.”

“He went eight last time.”

“Last time?” Edgar repeated.

The other preggo's husband nodded.

“And six the first,” the preggo shared with a sigh.

“How many kids do you have? Cody asked.

“These four will make seven.”

“Oh!”

“Lucky seven, right?” The other husband chuckled before offering Cody his hand. “I'm David, and this is Eric.”

“Cody and Edgar,” the firefighter replied as they shook. “Seven kids… Wow!”

“Believe me, that wasn't the plan!” Eric chuckled as he shook his head, both of which caused his large breasts to quake in his tight top. “We were shooting for four total but we overshot a bit.”

“We ended up getting four more!” David laughed as he looked down at his husband's huge belly. “Honestly, we shouldn't have been too surprised. I'm a twin and we had twins the first time, so…” he trailed off in a sigh.

“Are these your first?” Eric asked Edgar, who nodded.

“And most likely, only.”

Eric chuckled. “Like I said, we were planning on having four, but we said the same thing after the twins. More than one at once can definitely be overwhelming, but obviously, we eventually went back to the original plan.”

“Or tried!” David grunted. “We did fine the second time around. Just one…”

“We thought about stopping then but about two years ago, I got the itch again,” Eric rolled his eyes. “Sometimes I wish I hadn't scratched it now, but we're excited, right, hon?” He smiled at his husband, who grunted again.

“Excited, already a little overwhelmed, you name it!”

All of a sudden, Eric winced. He tried to keep quiet, but couldn't help but let out a deep groan as he leaned forward as much as his belly allowed.

Big as it was, that wasn't much. Eric wasn't carrying as high and round as Edgar, his belly more oblong and lower, the exposed underside hitting just above his knees.

“Everything OK?” Cody asked.

David nodded as he moved his hand to the middle of Eric's lower back and applied firm but gentle pressure with the heel of his palm. “He's been having contractions on and off for the past week.”

Edgar's eyes widened again. Even if they were sporadic, he couldn't imagine having contractions for a week?! He didn't want to!

“Woooo!” Eric exhaled as he clutched the sides of his belly, which even while clenching, extended as far as his shoulders. “This one's stronger than the last!”

“Maybe you should sit?” Cody suggested as he looked around for a bench.

Luckily, there was one only a few yards away. A short enough waddle but first, Eric needed to get through his current contraction.

“I'll be… alright,” he panted. “Just gimme a, ooooh!” He moaned.

“Yeah, you should sit, hon,” David said as he moved to help himself straighten up.

“Can I help?” Cody asked. “I'm a firefighter.”

David and Eric nodded. “We'd appreciate it,” the former smiled as his husband let out another deep groan.

Now people were really looking. A few even had the balls to hold their phones up and snap some pics of the laboring man. Those who did made sure to get Edgar in the shot too because it wasn't every day you saw two giant preggos together.

“Oooh,” Eric groaned a minute or so later, once he was seated. “Thanks,” he smiled up at Cody as he went back to stroking his swell.

“You good?”

“I am now,” he nodded as he leaned to the side to look around the firefighter at his husband. “But is he?” He asked, raising his sweaty brow.

Cody turned to see Edgar standing there clutching what he could of his belly in both hands. Much of its usual color had drained from his face as he stood there in wide-eyed disbelief. He looked like he'd seen a ghost. A poltergeist.

“Whoa, babe?!” Cody said as he hurried over. “What's wrong?”

“I think he needs to sit too!” David said as he came over to assist.

A

A few moments later, the two seeding husbands had Edgar seated on the bench next to Eric, their bellies both sticking far out in front of them while also resting on their thighs. Both orbs extended further down their legs than their shorts did, making the pair of preggos appear naked from the bloated waist down.

Finally, after a few more seconds, the thirty-one year old came out of his odd trance with several shakes of his head.

“Sorry…” he feebily apologized as he looked from Cody to Eric and then back again. “I guess I kinda freaked out there?”

Eric took his left hand from his belly and placed it on the younger man's right shoulder. “Don't worry,” he said with a pat. “I know it's a little intense to see, but I'm fine,” he assured with a smile and a nod.

“Yeah?”

“Totally,” he nodded some more. “I remember freaking out when I saw someone experiencing a contraction before I'd had any of my own.”

“Yeah?” Edgar repeated.

“Happened to me at the mall. I was five months along with the twins when I saw a guy in the paternity store suddenly double over and, yeah… Intense.”

“It was definitely a little nerve-wracking,” he agreed with an anxious chuckle.

“Eventually, you get used to it,” Eric said as he patted his shoulder. “Believe me, I would know!” He laughed as he took his hand back.

“You good now, babe?” Cody asked as he crouched down in front of him and placed his large, reassuring hands on what space was left on his thighs.

“I'm good.”

“I know what would make you better…” Eric said. “Assuming you're not lactose intolerant…”

“Ice cream!” Cody grinned as he stood. “We were gonna get some after our walk, but…”

“Our treat,” David said. “For scaring you,” he winked at Edgar. “You two gonna be OK if Cody and I go?” He asked the preggos.

“We'll be good,” Eric answered for them. “You know what I'll have, hon,” he winked at his husband.

“I do.”

“Babe?” Cody asked.

“Rocky road with hot fudge,” Edgar replied before quickly adding, “Three scoops?”

His husband's brows shot up as high as they could but smartly, he didn't say anything and just nodded. The same couldn't be said of Eric, who laughed.

“Three?!”

Some more color quickly returned to Edgar's face. “That's a lot, isn't it?” He realized with another frown as he looked back at Cody. “Better make it two.”

“You better not!”

“No, really… I was being greedy,” he insisted.

Eric disagreed. “You were being pregnant with multiples! And if it makes you feel any better, three is half as many scoops as I get!” He continued to laugh. “But let it be known, David and I share.”

“You need to work on your definition of sharing!” His husband replied as he and beckoned to Cody. “Come on, firefighter, let's go get the goods… Fill our guys’ bellies up a little more!”

***

“I hope you don't take this the wrong way…” Edgar started with another anxious laugh.

Eric released a groan. It sounded as good-natured as a groan could, but was a groan nonetheless.

“I'm sorry, I…”

“No, go ‘head!” He nodded. “As soon as I saw you and found out this is your first time, I knew you'd have questions. Ask away,” he nodded some more.

“Well first, what I was gonna say is it's nice not to be the biggest guy around,” the thirty-one admitted.

“I remember thinking the same when I was pregnant with the twins. In labor with them, actually,” Eric sighed as he shook his head. “We were at the hospital, walking the halls or waddling in my case. Heavily waddling, seeing as I was almost a week overdue!” He huffed.

“Is that normal?”

“To go overdue?”

Edgar nodded.

“Yes and no,” Eric replied. “It's uncommon for first-timers, but it is for those expecting multiples, so don't get too worried just yet!” He chuckled. “It is however very common for first-timers to take a while to deliver, so beware of that.”

“That, I knew,” Edgar nodded again.

“Anway, there I was, almost a week overdue and some twenty-two hours into labor… I felt like one of those Macy's Thanksgiving Day floats, but a lot heavier!” The older man groaned at the memory. “I was a hot, hormonal, scared and sweaty mess, furious with David for how knocked up I was. Luckily for my husband, that's when I saw him…”

“Him…” Edgar nodded enthusiastically, already hooked on the story as with a quiet grunt, he slowly leaned back and draped his arms across the back of the bench.

He grunted again as his belly shifted atop his thighs. Then he winced as the lowest baby, the one shifted and stretched.

“If I was a float, he was a blimp! The Goodyear! His belly was easily twice as big as mine!”

“Woof!” Edgar grunted.

“I found out later he was having quints.”

“Mega woof!”

“Right?” Eric chuckled. “But guess what?”

Somehow, Edgar already knew what Eric was going to say. He didn’t want to hear it. He shook his head.

“Don’t say it…”

His new friend/expectant tutor nodded as he looked down at his belly and framed it with his hands. “I’m bigger now than he was. Much…”

“No!” He said in shock he shouldn’t have felt, even though he expected to.

“Yup,” Eric confirmed before saying, “Now go ‘head and ask me what you really want to…”

Edgar smirked. They were on the same page. He’d felt trepidatious about engaging the other preggo, but now he was glad he had. He’d have to thank Cody later, assuming the answers to the questions he’d yet to ask weren’t too bad…

“Alright… So how bad is it?”

Eric chuckled. “I take it you’re planning on giving birth naturally?”

“That’s the plan,” Edgar nodded. “With an epirdural.”

“I won’t lie, even with an epidural, the first one sucked!” The soon-to-be birthing father of seven groaned. “Suuuuuucked!” He heavily emphasized. “The second, not so much, so at least there’s that.”

“Oh!” The thirty-one year old frowned again.

“Aww…” Eric cooed playfully. “I just burst your bubble, didn’t I? You thought an epidural was…”

“Going to be my saving grace, yes,” Edgar replied, his frown growing.

“It does help, but it’s not the be all, end all people expect.”

“It’s still worth getting one, right?”

Eric nodded emphatically. “Yes!”

“So giving birth is like..?” Edgar asked, open ended.

“Let me ask you a question,,, What do you think it’s like?”

“Honestly..?”

“Honestly.”

He laughed and shook his head as he looked from Eric’s, down to his own swell. “Honestly, probably like taking a REALLY big, no MASSIVE…”

“And most difficult…”

“Shit.”

“Bingo!” Eric laughed. “Well, sort of… You push the same way, just much, much harder and it does feel different. More…” he paused. “Substantial. Sorry you asked?” He chuckled.

“Not really,” Edgar sighed. “It’s probably better I know what to expect, and who better to learn from than an expert like you!” He chuckled.

“I don’t consider myself an expert yet… Plenty of people give birth to three kids, yourself soon-to-be included,” the older preggo smirked. “After I give birth to four more? Maybe?” He shrugged.

“Definitely!” Edgar laughed. “And take that as a compliment.”

“Thank you, I do. So anything else?”

The younger man took a moment before responding. As he did, he looked up from his chest, over to Eric’s because in their time sitting next to each other, he’d noticed something he hadn’t initially. Something he wanted to know more about, so now that he’d been asked…

Edgar thought his chest had grown a lot, which it had. It looked especially big, all stuffed together and held high by the biggest sports bra he had at the moment, which was too small. But compared to Eric’s breasts, his looked like mosquito bites.

Not only were the older man's much larger, even though they were obviously quite full, they seemed softer, less perky and bloated and more just there. Like they'd been there for some time and had no plans on returning to their previous state or size any time soon.

“Your chest…” Edgar said.

“Is huge, I know.”

“Did it go back to how it was before between pregnancies?” He asked.

Eric nodded. “After I weened the twins, it went back. Didn't get quite as big when we had our third, but it didn't get a chance to recover because I got pregnant with these four while I was still breastfeeding.”

“Oh.”

“And no, obviously they're not as perky as yours are,” he chuckled. “Too big to be perky now,” he shook his head. “Too heavy too!” He added with a grunt, which caused the large orbs to bobble. “Do you plan on breastfeeding?”

Edgar nodded. “I'm gonna give it a go.”

“With three, you're gonna wanna get a pump.”

“I did.”

“Good call. Fair warning, if you feed and/or pump, if they haven't started to already, your nipples are going to change,” Eric shared, obviously from experience.

“They're already bigger and darker and I haven't put them to use yet.”

“Has Cody?” He asked with a chuckle.

“Maybe..?” Edgar laughed back. “He hasn't struck gold yet.”

“If he keeps trying, won't be long till he does. When I wasn't already breastfeeding, my milk came in when I was about eight months.”

Conversation moved onto other pregnancy related topics. What breathing techniques Eric thought worked best, what kind of nursing bras he used. Any information he shared, Edgar soaked up like a sponge. He'd learned a lot from the birthing classes he and Cody had been attending, and even though the instructor encouraged questions, this was different. He'd just met Eric, but this was more comfortable.

“Got any tricks or tips for stretch marks?” Edgar asked next.

Eric laughed long and loud, causing his breasts and belly all to bounce and the hem of his shirt to rise up another couple inches. “Learn to accept them!” He said, placing his right hand on his belly to try and steady it.

“Oh, um… I guess I'll try when I get them?” The thirty-one year old replied.

Eric leaned back as he whipped his head over to look at him. “You don't have any?”

Edgar shook his head. “Not yet.”

“Prove it!”

He laughed as he looked around the park. At the moment, no one seemed to be paying attention to them, the thrill of their seated presence having worn off. Since the coast was clear, Edgar grabbed his hem and pulled till it was bunched up under his breasts. For a moment, his entire belly was out on display, but only just. Quick as he could, he pulled his shirt back down as far as it went.

Short as the peep show had been, it'd been long enough for Eric to see that his new, younger, less pregnant friend was telling the truth. Edgar's tan, hairless belly was completely free of stretch marks, though it was under some strain around his belly button which had not only popped out, but looked like it would soon flatten out entirely.

“What's your secret? What've you been doing?” Eric demanded to know.

“Honestly, just hoping and praying,” Edgar shrugged.

“Well I'd keep that up if I were you,” the bigger preggo said as he reached down (and out) for his hem. “‘Cause otherwise, you might end up like this!”

Same as Edgar had, Eric pulled his shirt all the way up. Uncovered, it looked even bigger. Uncovered by clothes, that is, because it was covered not only by a thick coat of brown hair, but also countless stretch marks.

“Oh!”

“Yeah!” He grunted. “I can't even begin to guess how much I spent on creams? I should've put the money in the kids’ colleges funds ‘cause none of them worked,” he shook his head.

“Oh,” Edgar said again, this time with a frown.

“Shocking, I know, but a lot of these are new,” Eric continued, gesturing at and around the closest side of his belly. “Considering how many more I got, at least I knew better than to waste any more money this time,” he sighed as he let his fingers run over some of his newest additions.

“Tanning the tank, hon, or just giving it some air?” David chuckled as he and Cody returned with the ice cream.

“Neither, really,” his husband exhaled as he lowered his shirt, but not before Cody got a good (great in his book) look at his pregnancy in all its bare (aside from the hair and stretch marks covering it) glory. “Just showing off all my stripes.”

“No one can say you didn't earn them,” David chuckled as he stepped forward (but to the side) and handed over what could only be described as a trough of ice cream. Cookie dough with sprinkles, by the looks of it. “Especially all the new ones!” He winked as he took one of the two spoons, making sure to load it up with ice cream before Eric set to work devouring it.

He did so immediately after offering a quick thanks. The quadruplet-carrying preggo barely got the word out before he filled his mouth to the brim with cold, sweet and delicious goodness.

“I just realized something…” Edgar said through his more respectable mouthful. “Where are your kids?”

“Right there!” David replied, using his now empty spoon as his pointer.

“I think he meant… the others,” Eric said as he chewed.

Clearly, the plan was to let his husband do most of the talking at the moment, because he had work to do… There had to have been at least half a gallon of ice cream sitting in that trough resting atop his belly in front of his breasts, but not for long. Soon, it would be in him.

Most of it, anyway… David stepped forward and snagged himself another big spoonful, causing his husband to growl in a playful manner. Well, maybe? Honestly, Edgar couldn't tell?

“The others are with my parents,” David said through his large mouthful. “They’ll be staying with them till after the quads are born and Eric and I have established our new routine.”

Unlike Eric, even pregnant, Edgar didn't have any issues sharing with his husband. They frequently ate off each other's plates and out of their bowls, but at the moment, as the thirty-one year old continued to thoroughly enjoy his cold treat, he was glad Cody had gotten one of his own.

But even if he hadn't, the firefighter wouldn't have taken any of his. Why? Because Cody hated anything chocolate, the weirdo…

Stranger still, childish as he often acted, the hunky twenty-nine year old also had an aversion to marshmallows. Claimed he didn't “like the texture.” All that meant that Edgar could enjoy his chocolate, marshmallow-packed ice cream guilt-free, while Cody repeatedly lapped at his double scoop cone of boring vanilla. Yuck…

The vanilla, anyway. The sight of his big, sexy husband's tongue darting in and out of his mouth got Edgar thinking.

Of what? Of said tongue flicking in and out and into, out of and all around his hole the previous night. Before they had sex to help get it ready for its latest intrusion, after, to lap back out all the creamy “filling” he'd deposited inside it. Mmm…

Before he could stop himself, Edgar grunted. Loudly.

Everyone looked at him, Cody (as he continued to lick at his cone,) and both of their new friends.

“Everything OK?” David asked, since he was the only one who didn't have a mouthful of ice cream.

No, everything was not alright. Edgar realized the strong and sudden pressure he was feeling somewhere unseen underneath his belly, was the result of the rock hard erection now pressing up against it to the best of its ability.

“Fine,” he nodded as he licked his lips free of chocolatey goodness. “Brain freeze.”

“Brain freeze my ass…” Eric muttered under his breath. “I saw you looking at Cody's tongue… The way it was…”

“This is really nice, isn't it?” Edgar cut in, addressing the group. “Brain freeze aside, of course!” He laughed as he turned and shot Eric a look, simultaneously admitting to him he was right, while silently begging him to keep quiet about it. “Lovely day… New friends, time with our husbands, ice cream…” he nodded. “And, ooh!” He cooed as he briefly placed his bowl of what remained of his ice cream into his right, along with his spoon, and moved his left hand to his belly. “I think the babies like the ice cream too!”

“Aww, yay! And this is nice,” Cody smiled and nodded in agreement before letting his tongue dart back out.

This time, Eric was the one to grunt. Before anyone could question why, he claimed to be having a brain freeze of his own.

David was the next to grunt, his sounding slightly annoyed. “I'm not surprised…” he shook his head. “Half of your half gallon is gone already, and I only had two bites!”

“Well then you better get one more before it's all gone!” Eric replied as he loaded his plastic spoon back up, which caused David to grunt in obvious annoyance again.

All of a sudden, Cody laughed, instantly drawing everyone's attention. “Sorry!” He quickly apologized to the group.

“What's so… funny, babe?” Edgar asked as he maneuvered to take his original grip, licking his lips clean again as he did.

His husband didn't initially address him. Instead, the firefighter looked from David to Eric, his smile genuinely growing as he did.

“I know you guys are just bickering… Teasing,” he nodded. “It's obvious you love each other, just as obvious it is to me that Edgar and I can't be like the two of you,” he shook his head.

“What do you mean?” David asked.

“Just that… I think that the four of us are gonna be friends,” the twenty-nine year old nodded. “And our kids too,” he nodded some more. “Probably our only kids, ‘cause even though I don't know what you guys do yet, I do know that Edgar and I can't afford to have any more,” he shook his head.

As he did, a single drop of vanilla ice cream fell from its perch on his cone, to the ground.

“Who said we could afford seven kids?!” David laughed. “Did you, hon?” He asked Eric, who shook his head.

“I did not.”

“We're already drowning in debt!” David continued in the form of a groan. “I'll probably have to work till I'm eighty before I can afford to retire!” He laughed somewhat maniacally.

“And that's with me getting my tubes tied and then going back to work as soon as I can!” Eric added with a somewhat disturbing cackle of his own.

“Seriously?” Cody asked. “I just kinda figured you guys could afford to…”

“You're cute!” Eric cut him off. “Hot, if I'm being honest, but cute to think we could really even afford to have four kids, so forget about seven!”

“We're not raising them in the poor house,” David jumped back in. “We have enough to treat them well and treat ourselves and our new friends to ice cream. We're happy. Very happy,” he nodded, his smile also genuinely growing as he looked lovingly at his massively pregnant husband.

“That we are,” Eric confirmed as he loaded his plastic spoon up again.

“Aww…” Edgar cooed as he set his almost emptied bowl down on the bench. “Babe…”

“Yeah..?” Cody asked.

“There's something I need to tell you…”

“Of course!” He nodded.

“I think I wanna get pregnant again,” Edgar nodded back, not hesitating.

“Seriously?!” Cody asked, eyes bulging almost as big as his husband's belly already was.

“Seriously, but…” the florist paused. “Ideally, just with ONE more,” he nodded.

“After three, what's one more?” The firefighter shrugged.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah!” He nodded as he looked back between Eric and David. “I'm good with that ‘cause in a way, now that we've gotten to know David and Eric some, that glimpse into the future isn't so scary!”

Edgar laughed. “For you! You're not the one who has to give birth!”

“Oh, you'll be fine!” Eric said as he suddenly stuck his arms out, thrusting what (little) remained of his ice cream at his husband, who quickly took and started devouring it. “I'm glad we met!” He smiled at the younger couple.

“We are too,” Edgar replied.

Eric continued. “David and I are giving you a glimpse into the future, and you're giving us a look back in the past. Win, win, huh?”

“Definitely,” Cody grinned before going back to (seductively, whether he meant it to be or not) licking what was left of his cone.

Eric's smile got a little smaller as he looked over at his husband, who was going to town on what remained of their ice cream. What was left had almost entirely melted by then, but that didn't mean he didn't want more!

“Who needs to work on their SHARING skills now?” He asked David. “You're even worse than the kids!”

“Pot, meet kettle!” David huffed before raising the trough to his face and just pouring what remained in it into his mouth and down his throat.

“Bastard!” Eric quietly hissed.

It sounded playful, but again, Edgar couldn't be entirely sure.

“This, we need to take note of, babe,” he said to Cody, only half joking. “We need to remember, sharing is caring.”

“Willingly sharing,” David corrected him once he'd swallowed.

“Willingly,” Cody nodded. “Duly noted… Any other marriage tips or tricks to share? We're doing fine, I just want to keep it that way and I get the idea things are gonna change a lot when the babies arrive.”

“Oh, they will!” Eric grunted and nodded.

And then he grunted again, but louder this time. As he did so, he leaned forward over his belly, squishing his breasts between it and his chin.

“Here's another… one!” He gritted out before quickly falling into a steady pattern of rhythmic breathing.

Edgar felt that panic starting to return, but only for a moment. He'd only witnessed one, so he wasn't a pro when it came to contractions yet, but Eric was.

“Here…” the thirty-one year old grunted as he got up as quickly as he could. “Lemme get out of your way,” he said to David, who nodded as he promptly took his seat.

“Thanks. You're good, hon,” he encouraged Eric as he rubbed his back.

“They're, unnnnggh!” Eric groaned, wincing as he clutched his belly. “Moving a lot! All of… them!”

“Focus on your breathing,” David gently reminded as he continued to rub.

“Hoooooo!” Eric exhaled loudly. “It's getting… Heeeee! Stronger!”

Cody came over and wrapped his arm around Edgar's waist. “You good?” He asked him quietly in his ear before planting a tender kiss above it.

“I'm good,” the thirty-one year old nodded. “I hope I'm that good when I'm the one having contractions!”

“You'll be fine,” Cody said with another kiss.

Edgar smiled up at him. With Cody by his side, regardless of how scared or uncomfortable he was, he knew he would be. He opened his mouth to say as much, but before he got anything out, Eric got their attention again.

“Oh shit!” He said loudly.

He wasn't yelling, but he was close. He was loud enough to start attracting more attention from passersby, especially as he started shifting from side to side on the bench as much as his belly allowed. Edgar didn't know why Eric was doing that but evidently, David did.

“Now?! Here?!” He asked as he scrambled back to his feet.

Eric nodded. Edgar looked to Cody, still just as confused. “What's…” he started to ask.

Cody opened his mouth to reply but at the same time, still squirming atop the bench, their new quad-filled friend opened his hole.

Eric’s water broke. In a series of loud spurts, fluid gushed out beneath him, soaking the bench and the ground below as he moaned.

“Oh!” Edgar exclaimed. “Did… Was that…”

“His water just broke,” his husband rather needlessly confirmed.

“Woooo!” Eric loudly exhaled again as he looked up at them.

Much to Edgar's surprise, he was smiling. Grinning, actually.

“I feel so much better!”

“You do?” Edgar asked dumbfounded.

Eric nodded before turning to David. “They're coming today!” He said excitedly.

“Today!” David repeated with a big grin of his own.

“You're in labor?” Edgar realized aloud.

“I've been in labor!” Eric laughed.

“This whole time?!”

“The early stages, but yes,” he nodded. “

“We should probably get going, hon,” David said as he held out his hands.

Cody went over to help. Working together, the three of them slowly got Eric up on his feet.

“I feel lighter!” He continued to grin.

“I'm not surprised!” David laughed. “Look at that puddle!”

Eric turned to look, but his belly, which was now slightly smaller, was still too big for him to see it. “At least you don't have to clean it up!” He chuckled as he reached into his pocket for his phone.

“I can call 911 for you!” Edgar offered as he hurried to do the same.

“911?” Eric laughed.

The thirty-one year old nodded. “To take you to the hospital…”

“He's taking me!” Eric pointed to David. “The phone is for you,” he said to Edgar as he held it out to him. “Gimme your number so we can keep in touch and so I can send you baby pics later today.”

“Later today?” Edgar asked as he punched away at the screen. “Don't you mean tomorrow?”

Eric laughed again. “Something for you to look forward to… After two, they come out real easy. These four should just blast right out!”

“Which is why we should get going…” David said as he carefully steered his husband back towards the front of the park.

Several minutes later, during which Eric didn't have any more contractions, they were street side, standing next to the older couple's car. Except it wasn't a car, it was a full-size van with more than enough seats for their soon-to-be bigger brood. More importantly at the moment, it also contained Eric’s hospital bag, four infant carseats, and a four-seater stroller.

The new friends exchanged hugs made awkward by bellies. Edgar and Eric's was obviously the most awkward.

“Good luck,” Edgar said as he carefully stepped back and out of the way so David and Cody could help Eric into the van.

“Thanks,” Eric replied once he was mostly situated, still working the seat belt over and around his belly and breasts.

“We'll have you guys over soon to meet all the kiddos,” David said to the younger couple as he gently closed his husband's door and then hurried around to his.

And then they were gone. Edgar sighed as he let his waving left hand drop down to his belly.

“Did all that really just happen?” He asked as he turned to Cody.

His husband smiled down at him as he placed his hand atop the swell too. “It did,” he nodded.

“Wow.”

“Yeah.”

“Let's agree right here and now,” Edgar said as he moved his hand to Cody's and took it. “Four kids and four kids only.”

“Maybe five?” Cody said as they started walking/waddling back home.

“Babe!”

“Definitely not seven!” He clarified, hoping that would help.

It did.

“Definitely not seven!” Edgar repeated as he tipped his head and leaned it against his studly husband's solid shoulder.

Fin.
