2026-01-16 19:20:51 +0000 UTCI'm actually partway through Erdrich's The Sentence, in which a (likely at least somewhat fictionalized) version of Birchbark books and Louise herself are characters!I like it a lot so far and will have to check out the actual bookstore if I am ever in the twin cities! I actually read The Birchbark House by erdrich yearssssss ago as a grade school kid and only vaguely remember the story but I'm really enjoying her as an adult novelist so far.
