I’ve only just started reading but I wanted to share my favorite fact about the fate of ophelia because I’m a ‼️Shakespeare Guy‼️and it made me laugh aloud when I read the lyrics: There is only one actual line from Hamlet referenced in the song. It’s framed romantically but it isn’t between Hamlet & Ophelia. It’s between Ophelia and her brother. I think this would be fucking awesome if it were intentional but I know it’s not

On one hand, it's so on theme with the contents that it just seems like the logical choice for someone so commercially non-offensive. But on the other, I don't know why I'd expect thematic cohesion from Taylor Alison Swift.

Hence the comparison. Also Taylor and Scooter Braun were both wrapped up in that controversy per the Wikipedia page.)
