Patrons, I had an idea. I am really disappointed with the pace of Colorlab and my experience in dealing with an archive company (as opposed to an individual), however it is treating me a very valuable lesson about how this will have to work going forward.
FYI, as of today, we have met all of our funding requirements for the next video. That will be sent to Colorlab on 2/7, who will immediately ship the footage to me. It's all scanned and everything, they are just waiting on the second half of the payment I still owe them, which for this batch comes to $1,670.
Yes, this is the most expensive project by more than double I've taken on. Yes, it was a much bigger sum than I first suspected. I just want to thank all of you so much for sticking with me with your silent but steadfast support, and the above is a new format in which I feel will better communicate the situation. I hope to post this anywhere between 2-4 times per month, and then writing a more detailed summary down below. There is no such thing as too much communication when it comes to this financial relationship, so please let me know if there's anything more I can do.
Also, once this film is released, I will be opening up alternative avenues outside of Patreon to support the channel, including PayPal etc...I will also, on the advice of some expressed interest, be putting together a VERY LIMITED store (not 'Merch') where you may be able to purchase my films on physical media, such as blu-ray discs. Later this year, Patreon is forcing creators to switch from monthly billing to subscription-based, so I just want to open up options for all of you and finally stop forcing individuals to funnel though a single avenue.
However, first: Let's make this damn video already.
