Elena has also told Stefan that she was sick but Stefan didn’t listen to her and that’s why she went to Damon. Damon is helping her out the best he can. He gave her his blood and gave her a blood bag. He wants to help her out because Stefan isn’t hearing her properly.

Jd is wrong about that. Damon has always touched her hair or face to comfort elena. It’s not something that happened out of nowhere.

exactlyyyyy. thank you! people keep saying she didn't say anything to stefan and went straight to damon but she told him after he grabbed the bottle "celebrating? it actually kind of made me sick" and he saw/heard her throw up. he responded that it was normal and she'd get used to it... no wonder she went to someone else. when she said "i thought damon would understand" i completely understood what she was saying. damon is okay with hiccups and things not being perfect. he's easier to go to and less likely to judge if elena said she wanted to try human blood. stefan didn't take it seriously and he keeps trying to teach people about vampirism soley based on what he went through instead of trying to figure out whats good for them. "when i first turned..." "you wont be able to.. because i couldn't..." "i did this so you should do...". everyone will not be like stefan! we saw when caroline first turned, he tried to get her straight on animal blood, but not too long later she figured out that she actually likes and can handle blood bags. he needs to get out of that mindset that everyone will turn into a ripper after a few drops of human blood. part of it is coming from being caring and protection/prevention, but lets not have that be the first choice/resort. they can try other methods before sticking to his!

Also gotta say, uh Stefan if she throws up when you kiss her, you're not doing it right. (okay just kidding LOL)

Elena went to Damon for help because Stefan wouldn't listen to her. She tried to tell him about the blood but he just kept telling her it'd be fine. Damon knew what she was going through and tried to help her. They both had valid points but they needed to combine their ideas and do what was best for her in the short term, then figure it out later. Damon did tell her the blood sharing was personal but surely she knew that from when Stefan drank from her...or maybe it's different since she's a vampire. Damon probably should have explained how intimate that would be for him. Stefan has no right to berate her for trying to get help and advice from Damon like the blood rejection thing is her fault. He's the one who has to always have his way, but blames Damon at every turn. Damon, on the other hand, does not bad mouth Stefan to her. Just saying. Also, to be fair to Damon, in the bar he pointed around and tried to get her to choose a human to drink from and he was there if she needed help stopping or making them forget but she refused to do that at all, so he tried the next thing which was the blood from him hoping that would work but it also failed.

One of the reason that Elena chose Stefan in the season 3 finally was because she was looking for some sense of familiarity. When everything is constantly changing around you and you have no control over it you tend to cling to anything that is stable, something that won’t change. When Stefan kissed her one last time, it brought back all those familiar feelings. She thought now everything can go back to the way it was. But things changed too much. Elena herself changed a lot and not just because she is a vampire now, even before that, she went through so much growth in season 3. She became stronger, her view about life changed and she no longer looks at life with the black and white point of view as she used to. She now understands that everything works on a shades of grey. She doesn’t think the same way as she did in season 1 and 2. But Stefan is not aware of those changes because he was never around to see it. The girl he left in the end of season 2 is not the same girl he is dating now. But Damon is aware of those changes because he was there for her this whole time. He noticed how she changed and he changed too, he grew so much in season 3, they grew together. They got tremendously closer in season 3 and ignoring that would not do anybody any good. We forget that Elena was probably in her weakest state of mind in the end of season 2. After she was sacrificed in a ritual only to wake up and realise she lost everybody and even her boyfriend left her( he did it to save Damon’s life but it doesn’t change the fact that he still left her) but Damon was there to help her. We didn’t see how exactly Damon helped her through all that grieving and what happened in that summer but we saw the result of that. It was obvious in the first episode of season 3 and how everything was changed between them. So the dynamic between her, Stefan and Damon has changed too much now so is it possible for things to go back to the way it was? Because after everything that happened between her and Damon, all the time they spent together we could clearly see how she started to develop some intense feelings for Damon that only got stronger over time, her feelings and sexual desire for him got so much overwhelming to the point that she couldn’t deny it anymore and she eventually gave in to it when she kissed him in the motel. All those feelings and sexual tension would not simply go away just because she chose Stefan. If anything now that she’s a vampire, everything she felt before is even heightened so what that means for her relationship with both Salvatore brothers? Another thing I want to talk about is we saw clearly that Elena tried to talk Stefan and tell him that she was not doing ok but it was Stefan who shot her off immediately and told her she would get used to it eventually without trying to listen what she has to say. “I wouldn’t say I survived it, it actually made me sick” “She told me that she was fine” did she? Or Stefan just heard what he wanted to hear? That his method is working instead of his brother’s and he won the competition once again? Elena didn’t actually lie but it was Stefan who didn’t let her tell him the truth and now he’s accusing her of being a liar which is interesting, considering that’s all he did in his relationship with Elena and he’s putting the blame on Elena and made her feel bad without actually taking responsibility for his behaviour towards Elena that what actually made her go to Damon for help and why she would think that Damon would understand her but not Stefan. It’s so interesting to me that most people are unable to see Stefan’s manipulative tendencies in this show and they would fall for it as usual and actually blame Elena, the victim of manipulation instead of the manipulator.

Elena playing with Stefan’s feelings again 🤦‍♂️

Damon saving the seat for alaric at the bar every single time is something I love about season 4😩

Itami

The damon and alaric scene at the end really gets to me every single time :( like we didnt see it on screen everytime but it was implied the way ric knew even what damon did for rose which he told nobody else, Damon and Ric used to confide almost everything with each other 😭. Damon used to be able to share how he felt with Ric and that’s really special

Itami

I think what should probably be considered when talking about Elena and her actions is the fact that while she is definitely kind, compassionate and willing to put others’ welfare ahead of her own, there is also another side to her that we rarely get to see. Elena wasn’t always buried in grief and tragedy. There was once a more fun loving girl who loved cheerleading, who once chose going to a party over staying in for family night, and who was grounded from seeing boyfriend Matt when they were caught underage drinking. Not dark stuff by any means, but normal, imperfect teenage behavior She’s no Damon, be she also isn’t Stefan. Maybe being a vampire will let her figure out who she is without being assigned a specific role by others. Not pedestal -worthy, not fragile, but possibly more grown up???

Me toooooo

Itami

Interesting indeed but I guess it comes with the territory of a very eclectic show with an even more diverse audience. It all comes down to personal preference and what one looks for in an episode I would say. Season 4 has its hits and misses for me too !

Jinzhi

That's really strange, this is probably the episode I dislike the most 🤣🤣 wonder how 2 people who love the same show can have such differing opinions on 1 episode 🤔

CeNedra

Yay I'm excited! I loved this episode, the scene in the church is top tier TVD I love when the team has to work together
