Give this about two more chapters then let me know if your perception changes at all. I'm trying to do something here that may or may not work like I want it to. I don't want to talk too much about it until it becomes clear where it's headed, then I am super eager to chat about it. (This said, I did recently change this scene a bit to make the whole Nyx mask thing more intense, it is possible I over-corrected a bit, but again, lets chat about it over the next two chapters and see).

Not sure how to feel about them picking and choosing personality traits. I struggle with who i am on a near constant basis, even when i am self aware of an issue i have, i still mess up all the time. I feel like we all got something about us we would change if we could, and whenever i read about a character in a novel who suceeds right away at changing a problematic personality trait or ingrained habit i get whiplash, and it strains my suspension disbelief more than plot armor or ridiculous "luck". Changing who you are( or even how you present yourself) is no mean feat , and while the whole "fake it until you make it" rings true as a strategy to re-invent yourself, the ease with wich Infinity is suceeding at it is entering Mary Sue territory. It made sense when they were alternating back and fort between Base Tavi and Crystal Infinity mental tracks depending on the situation, it read more like switching gears in a car , this last quarter of the chapter read more like they were MacGyvering said car engine while drifting to make it go turbo. I might be speaking too soon , as we havent seen her actually suceed at nailing the Nyx act just yet , and i might be a bit biased on account of my personal story controlling my own behavior/personality , but so far you have been consistent in your writing to the point i never questioned Infinity's various rewards and this felt like an overreach.
