Rat Lair Update

Hello folks!
We're almost done with the first of this month's release. Apologies for taking a while; the different levels are always a challenge to figure out how to make them printer-friendly.

With us close to solving all these issues, and almost completing this now, we should be able to blast through the rest of the release. Suffice to say I should begin delivery early next week.

Thank you all for your patience!
Pinyo

I am kind of in agreement with you. I have quite the collection of scenery from Pinyo, and while I don't necessarily mind this sculpt, I was REALLY looking forward to it being a lot closer to the concept pictures with those awesome, crazy pointy roofs and stairs, and more of a rocky texture to the supporting ground surface, instead of it being so smoothly worn. Something from deep underground, not necessarily that looks like it belongs on or close to the surface and is worn away.

I'm with Talismancer on this, I am on this Patreon because I like low-fantasy, pretty realistic buildings. These are lovely and much more useable for me than something over-done.

I feel like this is exactly the point of the criticism though (at least it is for me). The release wasn't about buildings to be "dropped into any town or village" - there are hundreds of those in dozens of different styles out there already, from at least as many creators. They do look great and make a decent addition to existing models, don't get me wrong. But to me they unfortunately don't feel like the advertised grimdark rat lair at all.

Agreed. The concept art and the previous work was the reason I finally got myself to subscribing this month and I'm not too happy that the whole concept of disheveled, pointy, jagged, and askew ratmen buildings became just slightly lopsided brick houses that could pass as some random elevated human fishing village.

*Swoons* nice! I'm going to totally oppose the "do better" crowd. The model as you're making it can be dropped into any town or village, has a great fantasy look without going OTT & is v functional. If you designed the model exactly as depicted and I printed it, it would be a use-once and hand to the local wargaming club. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but looking at your history of models, I doubt it.

Well... I’m not going to lie. I love your work and have a BUNCH of your scenery from both the Patreon and buying it on MMF. You do great stuff. But I’m incredibly disappointed by this month so far. The concepts were fabulously perfect! Exactly what I’ve always looked for. The actual sculpt is not at all similar in feel. It’s like you intentionally removed all of the unique whimsy from the original design. The crooked stairs and crazy roofs were so awesome! The sculpt is cute, but just a total miss compared to the concepts. Sorry, but I thought you should know because I KNOW you can do better.
