Element Voting

Heyo Chat! This month we're releasing the Elemental Voting update. It's currently still in development. After it's done, it'll be in exclusive public beta for Subscribers for about a week. 

Before we get there though, you can read how the system will work and you can share any feedback to the #wg-suggestions Discord channel.

Starting a Poll

From the Cards Details page, a new poll can be initiated. Whoever starts the poll can choose one of the 18 Elemental Types in WaifuGame: Normal, Fight, Wind, Poison, Earth, Bug, Metal, Blood, Tech, Grass, Fire, Water, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Music, Dark, or Light. 

To start a vote, you'll have to pay a price in Shards. This is because we want to prevent players from starting too many votes without giving other players the chance to countervote. We also want to prevent the same character changing Elemental Types too often, so each change will cause a price increase. 

The price of Starting a Vote can cost as little as 20 Shards (only if the current element is '???'). The poll will start with 3 votes that 'Agree' (plus any extra vote power from your Sub Tier).

There'll be a Discord Channel (#elemental-polls) that will keep track of opening and closing polls.

Voting on Polls

Players can find active polls via the app. They can vote 'Agree' or 'Disagree' on the proposed changes. 

Only one poll can be active at a time per character, so you can only initiate a competing vote after the voting has ended.

It costs One Energy to vote. Please vote only if you're sure!

Votes per Player

The Poll Starter starts out with three votes that 'Agree' with the poll. 

Regular players have only one vote. Using multiple accounts to vote on the same poll is not allowed in accordance with our ToS.

Poll Results

Each poll will last for five days. When the time is up, and at least 51% of voters 'Agree', the change is made to WaifuGame for the Character and all existing Cards of that Character. 

The details of who voted for what are only visible to staff. The percentage of 'Agree', and total votes is made public.

The outcome will also be posted to #elemental-polls.

Mechanical Impact of an Elemental Change

Assigning an Elemental Type to a Character means that they'll be ready for Combat.

Animus get a damage bonus when the Battle Move they perform is of the same type as the Animu is. So, if the Animu has learned a certain move, but their type is changed later on, it'll be less powerful. 

FAQ

Why Shards and not GG?

We consider this to be a meta game element of WaifuGame, and Shards are the currency of the meta game. 

Isn't 20 Shards is too cheap?

When a Character is '???' it'll be 20 Shards.
If it has an Elemental Type, it'll be at least 100 Shards to change. 

The price goes up by 50 Shards for attempted poll (so successful or unsuccessful) to change that character's type.

What happens to the votes already made in the 'old' system?

The feature wasn't advertised, but indeed, there has been a feature to vote for Card Elements already. We'll convert those votes into polls over time.
