The pain you need.

Hello friends, you guys ever get tired of overwhelming positivity?

I try my best to stay away from propaganda in general, but it feels like nowadays everything is a constant "hang in there, things will get better", sure it's nice to be positive i guess, but a lot of times i feel like looking at it makes you feel worse than before. I tought for a bit it was a me thing, but recently i saw a small segment of a Mario Mendoza's interview (colombian writter).

Here he talks about how a very real way of dealing with a struggle is by "going to hell and back", meaning that a sad person doesn't need happiness to heal, but rather more sadness, an overdose of it, so much he'll feel sick of it and will flip, a sad person doesn't need happy music, but melancholic one, a frustrated person might need angry metal one, it's like homeophaty (except real lol), the poison is also the cure. He goes on by saying that sorrounding ourselfs with darkness can lead to breakthroughs in our pains, not only in music but in all of our sorroundings, taking walks alone, going out at night, etc.

Sometimes we don't know how to deal with our own frustrations, and this can potentially lead to dangerous behaviors, drug or alcohol addiction, etc. It surely doesn't help that we get bombarded by stay positive propaganda all day either, making us feel like maybe we're doing something wrong with our lives, with ourselfs.

With this said, i've always liked drawing sad people, i tought about it in the past, i tought i did it is cause it's an emotion anyone can relate to, i did it cause it was fun too, but i learned there's something deeper. If i draw someone in pain, sad or frustrated i want you to feel that too, maybe you need the feeling, maybe you don't, it all depends on how you're feeling at the moment, but like i said before, art can be used as a way to cleanse the soul, seeing and feeling pain that you relate in the moment will give a sense of well being more so than trying to make yourself happy. Sometimes i draw also to cleanse my own soul from this pains.

I hope my art isn't what you want, but what you need.

And i hope you all find healthy ways to deal with suffering within your lives, much love and thanks for the support like always.
