Twitter hacked & account regained
Added 2022-07-26 16:00:33 +0000 UTCI don't know if any one noticed as this whole even took less than 24 hours to happen and to be resolved, but my Twitter got hacked last night by a NFT bot, i'm gonna tell you a little bit of what happened and some final toughts.
It's 6:45pm, i'm going out for groceries with my wife, 30 minutes pass, i come back home and check my phone, 2 people in discord messaging me about my twitter account, i got hacked.
I try to be as relaxed as possible and do a plan of action, told close people that i got hacked just to let them know, and contacted twitter support.
Now, i'll say this, i think the twitter support is not very clear in the way this has to be done, i sent around 4 different applications until one got trough, i tought with stuff like a hacked account they wouldn't use bots to respond but they do, i did hear before that the support sucks ass and many people actually get locked out of their accounts and have to start over!
Eventually today i woke up to an email were they did confirm my idendity (from the last application i sent last night where i guess i finally did it right), and got my account back, lost around 200 followers from the hack, but it's all good.
As my final toughts i'll just say, please, activate that 2 step verification on all your social media, this whole thing was very scary but thankfully short lived, losing the twitter account would have been bad on itself, but it becoming worse and them having information of my other socials or even banking information is where it becomes horrifying, so please, be careful out there, i guess you never notice that it can happen to you until it does, get as much security as you can!
