Agents of SHIELD: Daisy was the MVP this episode!!! It might not be as big and flashy as some of her other power scenes, but Daisy containing a literal atom bomb from exploding by controlling the vibrations with her hands has to be one of the most badass things she’s ever done! Not to mention she absolutely obliterated those Shrike. It’s episodes like this that show just how far she’s come from the hacker we met in S1. And considering how unstable her powers were in S2, the focus and control she has now is even more incredible. I love the exchange between May and Snowflake: “Are all the females on your planet this powerful?” “They are.” Speaking of powerful women: YoYo actually remembered she has superspeed this episode! She also has the power of persuasion based on that scene with her and Jaco. And she clearly got through to him in more ways than one. Who would have thought he’d go out a hero like that? In a literal blaze of glory, no less. As for Fitz’s homecoming (FINALLY), I can’t decide which reunion was better: Mack or Deke. On one hand, Mack bear-hugging Fitz is especially wholesome when you remember Mack and other Fitz spent the last several episodes of Season 5 arguing. It’s heartwarming to see their friendship restored! And it must be healing for Mack, considering the last words he heard Fitz say were, “I think my legs are broken.” (Side note: the scene where Mack holds S5 Fitz’s hand as he dies is tied with him losing Framework Hope as my favorite Henry Simmons performance in the whole show—what a powerhouse of emotion!) On the other hand, “BOBO!!!” might be the best line of the night! Once again, we have Deke being a hyperactive golden retriever who just wants to love on Grandpappy Fitz (I like to think Deke’s sudden obsession with Fitz in S6 is just Jeff Ward’s irl friendship with Iain De Caestecker shining through the script lol). How will Fitz respond to all this unexpected puppy-love? Tune in next time to find out! As an aside, did you notice Deke and Fitz were both drinking Zimas? I wonder who brought those to the party … If you recall, last season Deke was primarily interested in FitzSimmons’ survival for the sake of his own. Now he wants to share a castle in Scotland with them. Why do you think he’s suddenly so family-oriented? And with this Fitz in a healthier mental state, do you think he’ll be kinder to Deke—or are they destined to clash no matter what? But better clash with each other than clash with May, it seems! Do you think she actually killed Sarge, or could he have miraculously survived? And do you think May shooting him was out of character or perfectly in character?
