Michi Shimura (Trixie from Speed Racer)

Between the hasty early era Anime aesthetic, the bizarre plots, the motormouthed English dub, and the groovy 60s-ness of it all, there's something laughably ridiculous happening at least once a minute.
Michi Shimura, (Trixie in the English version) isn't the best drawn anime girl, but it doesn't take much to see the potential behind the goofy rendering style. At least I think so. Fun Fact, Michi's shirt (not pictured) was the inspiration for Michelle Sullivan's top in Police Investigation. Those cute little knots on the shoulders are just begging to be untied, it had to be done!
I pretty much broke out every marker I had for this one: there's Copics, Ohuhus, Poscas, and even some fancy acrylic markers. Also just a touch of coloured pencil to add some blush. For all that, it turned out pretty okay. Michi is putting her best face forward anyhow.

Thank you! It's challenging to draw a pretty face making a funny expression and still have it be cute, but I think I'm getting the hang of it 😊
