Alright... gather close around the fire. I got a story from the woods—only this one ain't from Woodcreek. This one happened way over in Japan... deep in the mountains of Hokkaido.
Back in 1989, a rescue chopper was flying over Mount Asahi when the crew spotted somethin’ strange: giant logs, laid out clear as day, spelling three letters in the dirt—
S. O. S.
They followed the trail and—miraculously—found two lost hikers alive.
But here’s where it gets weird...
The hikers said they never built that sign. Didn’t even know it was there. Days later, search teams combed the mountain and found something else: a woman’s skeleton. Nearby were her bag, a hatchet... and an old cassette Walkman.
When investigators played the tape, they didn’t hear a woman.
They heard a man’s voice, rambling in panic.
No one could ever figure out who he was, or what the hell happened up there.
Why was a strange man’s voice on a dead woman’s tape? Who made the giant S.O.S. sign?
No one ever found out.
Some things just... echo in the wild.
