Anyone with Lyme Disease or experience with it...I would love to know your thoughts
Added 2025-08-12 17:22:23 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Monday's episode is going to be an episode on lyme / chronic lyme / celebrities with lyme disease / and the conspiracies around lyme disease (some people think it was a bioweapon tampered with on plum island!!!)
I've been on these forums of people talking about lyme and chronic lyme and first wanted to put it here and see what you guys think. I had always read on the internet that 'chronic lyme' is a myth for rich celebrities, but the more I look into it, it seems like it's an umbrella term for people with chronic conditions that can't exactly be pinned down, and these people are going through it and need more of a light/research/answer shined on their experience. So before I record Monday's episode on Friday - I wanted to see if anyone here has had experience with Lyme or Chronic Lyme and what your thoughts are on so many celebrities (Justin Timberlake as of late) speaking about this!

Sorry, this is long. In 2012 I started to periodically lose the use of my lower arms, wrists, and fingers. They would also turn purple and be very cold to the touch. This went on for months before I went to the doctor. I’m from an area with a lot of deer ticks, so my doctor suggested testing for Lyme. There was a lot of conversation at the time (at least in my region) about “Lyme Literate Doctors”. The test came back positive and my doctor said for these symptoms I’d probably had it for years. Later in the summer of 2012 I went to dinner with my parents and some family friends. Part way through the dinner I started to feel really sick. I had driven separately so I left to go home. On the drive I could see my lips had swollen, my only reference for allergic reactions—as I’d never had one before—was the movie Hitch where Will Smith drinks Benadryl through a straw. I called my mom to see if we had any at home. The family friends we were with at dinner included a nurse and a woman with a severe shellfish allergy. They said this was definitely anaphylaxis and they hurried home. By the time I got to my house I could barely see. The restaurant was close to my home so the dinner party arrived shortly. By the time they got to me I was no longer breathing and was turning purple (again lol). I went to the ER and was seen right away (if you want to skip the ER waitlist, I suggest not breathing. They’ll see you real quick). They gave me epinephrine and I spent the night in the hospital. Over the next two months I went to an allergist 5 times trying to identify what I was allergic to. I even had to call the restaurant and get a list of all the ingredients they used. The tests all came back negative. Apparently Lyme can cause temporary allergies to meat specifically. I went vegan shortly after (on the recommendation of my doctor to help alleviate the Lyme symptoms as it’s a low inflammatory diet), so have never had a problem again, but my doctor said she thought it was definitely Lyme related. Also, 2012 was well before every celebrity had it, and I often joked I had a disease that the only other people who had it were dogs (it’s not uncommon for dogs in heavy deer tick areas).

Their large muscle groups were weakened to the point where simple chores like dishes & general cleaning were exhausting. They had a full on ozone tank as well that they would climb into once or twice a week (looked similar tanning bed). The ozone was supposed to help with the Lyme disease.
