Thoughts on the book "Girl on Girl: How Pop Culture Turned a Generation of Women Against Themselves"

I am reading this fascinating book called Girl on Girl: How Pop Culture Turned a Generation of Women Against Themselves by Sophie Gilbert and just wanted to shout out different passages that stuck out to me. It covers pop culture through a timeline, and how different eras of pop culture ('losing your virginity' romcom movies, tabloids, photoshoots, porn, Us Weekly sections, etc) have all impacted culture and made women turn on each other. It is sometimes disheartening to read, but also fascinating!!!

You should check out Beach Bunny! They have a ton of feminist songs and they’re kinda indie/pop. So many of there songs too are just about being a girl and they’re so good

I feel like the insanity of the 90s and early 2000s, plus the influence of those male virgin movies is partly why today so much of the female youth is repulsed by sex, while so many of the males get red pilled into the toxic men with podcasts shit. It's very weird
