July: The Monthly Fluent
Added 2025-07-02 16:41:46 +0000 UTCAs we started last month, more favorites and habits from this past month! Check mine out and please share yours below too, I love reading them :)
Drinking: As most of my friends will know, I've been obsessed with this 21 Seeds Tequila (the cucumber jalapeno flavor). I have yet to meet a single person who doesn't like it - even people who hate tequila love it. I have it with a squeeze of lime and grapefruit spindrift and I call it my "spa water" drink because it truly tastes like infused water you get at spas. Dangerous...but delicious, and so good for the summer.
Laughing at: This guy on TikTok who has a series about 'bad walkers' in New York City. I truly can't relate any harder to this, part of the reason I think I left NYC is because I would be enraged at bad walkers everywhere, truly I was a mini hulk stewing in rage at people who aren't walking properly and this guys account (all he does is make videos about this lol) gives me such joy
Wearing: Athleta tank dresses...nearly every day this summer. My mom got me 2 of these dresses for my birthday and this summer they have been a GODSEND. It's so easy to slip on a comfy thong, this dress, sandals, your everyday jewelry, and leave the house looking put together when in reality...you really didn't style an outfit. It's my go-to outfit on days when it's disgustingly hot out but I still want to look cute, and honestly...Athleta is becoming one of my new favorite brands.
Ashamed but intrigued by: Using ChatGPT to create a list of before-bed-daydream scenarios. I'm really baring my soul for this one, but you know how it's nice to have a little daydream to fall into and think about as you fall asleep? I put my guidelines for a good night-daydream into ChatGPT (I'm special somehow...living in a luxurious mansion...there's a mission...) and it spat out 10 perfect night daydream scenarios, and now I'm excited to go to bed every night so I can think about these fun scenarios.
Hosting: This past weekend, I hosted another Girl Giveaway for my friends - where 7 of us at my house exchanged makeup/clothes/shoes/books, etc that we didn't enjoy, but someone else might enjoy. I try to do these a couple times throughout the year, and each time we all leave excited and feeling like we just shot Jeff Bezos in the head. Today I'm wearing shoes, jeans, and a button up that I got from my friends - a whole new outfit, for free! It also feels good after to have piles of things we donate to mutual aid organizations.
Let me know what your favorites/habits/listens/etc were for last month!

Doing: Making a summer bucket list. My partner and I have started making bucket lists for summer and fall. It's a nice way to build traditions and plan to spend time together intentionally. Also I was feeling like a no plan loser in May because I didn’t have a luxury vacation coming up and now I have something fun to look forward to every weekend until truly September. Wearing: Gingham pants. I’ve had them on my pinterest board for a couple of years and I’m stoked that gingham is so on trend and available this year. My job has a casual dress code and these are a nice change from jeans. Reading: Materialists discourse. I can’t stop seeking out everyone’s opinions about this bizarre movie. I don’t think I liked it plot wise but I did like watching Dakota Johnson wear beautifully tailored clothes. Hosting: At Home Happy Hour. Every Sunday afternoon I make a cocktail and an appetizer. The free tier of “The Sunday Stack” substack and “Collette’s Cocktails” ig have been a good source of recipe inspiration (and made my algorithm mostly snack recipes which is delightful). Eating: Fresh herbs from my little herb garden. I feel like Ina Garten everytime I go outside for a mint sprig.
