Sabrina Carpenter & "Man's Best Friend": Album Review, Cover Controversy Response and more
Added 2025-09-03 22:57:58 +0000 UTCApologies to the Carpenters for this one! MBF is out so I'm releasing a bit of Friday's episode early to discuss the tracks, the vibe, Sabrina's latest interviews on MBF, and how I would have tweaked the album. I still am rooting for Sabrina, but lately feeling let down from both the music and her interviews!

The only feminist thing I can say about the album cover is that it really just doesn’t resonate with me. It’s not something I relate to. It doesn’t turn me on to imagine myself being a dog, or being submissive to men. It’s very personal to her. And while femininity and sexuality can be powerful and can absolutely be used to control (weak) men, true submissiveness cannot. It’s also a very transactional ideology.
