I love how much research you do for each ep! Regarding having kids I completely understand your point of view and also the people in the comments. I grew up in a fam of 5 siblings with a single mother I have no idea how she did it ! Having a big family in this economy gives me anxiety 😥 it makes me a bit sad knowing that I won’t be having more than 1 kid ( maybe ) lol Btw let us know how it goes with the Oura ring I’ve heard there is a better version of it, where you pay no subscription, the superhuman ! Has anyone tried it ?

2025-03-20 06:28:19 +0000 UTCPS all of us strangers is the most amazing heartfelt film. A definite watch - but get your tissues out- also very R rated. I also think Andrew Scott is the most amazing actor ever. I I feel bad I wrote this on here because it’s not like a gossip thing, but I just love them both and actually would adore if they were a couple. So when me and my muggle (non online gossip) friend watched it and saw the chemistry, we kind of were obsessed by that - If you see it you’ll know. Then a few weeks later she told me through a mutual friend of ours who is in production, that they’d had a proper thing- which if you see the promos and appearances is not surprising. But if no one ever knows this, that’s probably better as not my sexuality to share, but just loved the idea of a little chat about it here where it is safe. @all

2025-03-19 23:51:56 +0000 UTCHaven’t listened to this yet but just listened to your Hollywood Batchelor shortage ep and wanted to come and say here - Paul Mescal is definitely bi. Apparently according to a friend related to the production that him and Andrew Scott deffo had a shag thing on ‘All of us strangers’ if anyone saw that. Heard it all over. Just makes him sexier tbf. 2025-03-19 23:16:28 +0000 UTCI have kids, I don’t think everyone should have kids… just those who want them. I have always wanted kids but I do find it super fun. We are just about a year in and it’s been super fun so far… I’m sure toddlerhood and beyond will humble me. Or maybe not. Either way, I’m happy with my decision.

2025-03-18 17:34:57 +0000 UTCForest bathing has been around a lot longer than the 1980s! If you aren’t good with meditation it will be harder. Try to go into the woods when there aren’t a ton of people around, weekdays and early mornings are usually sparser. One of my favorite methods is to go find a mossy rock in a cool spot (temp wise as I run hot) and just start by running my fingers over it and taking in the texture and again, easier with fewer people around, listening and picking out the sounds you hear, the smells, etc. Never go with hikers lol it is awfullll they get too focused on the distance part and not the taking it in part and sitting with it. Look up the area first in case there’s plants you shouldn’t touch though. My favorite time of year to do it here in the PNW is in may. People haven’t gotten out of school for summer and tourists haven’t hit, allergies are down. It’s not going to be too hot. I do actually prefer to go to the beach for it and go up on these cliffs and sit for awhile but again it’s hard when people are around. If you feel safe going alone it’s so much better

2025-03-18 14:37:33 +0000 UTCI’m 28, have always wanted kids and thought I would have had them by now but recently been reconsidering. The cost of living is actually insane and I just don’t see how it’s doable and I’d honestly rather not put a family in financial stress. Got a dog and that’s enough lol

2025-03-18 13:08:07 +0000 UTCAn Andy Warhol episode would be very interesting. He was a weird dude. I got to see an expansive exhibit of his art in Aspen, and there was a curtained-off area that you had to be 18+ to enter. There were hundreds of pictures of penises — his and other peoples.

2025-03-17 11:41:23 +0000 UTCDefinitely not having kids. Go watch some videos from the tiktok creator zoomie. Also as a nurse, birth and pregnancy can really wreak havoc on your body! I have so many reasons but thats a big one!

2025-03-16 19:36:52 +0000 UTCI’ll start with the caveat that I’m in a good place financially to have started a family and also I’m in Canada so we have great maternity and health benefits. But, I became a mom six months ago and it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. It’s 100x better and easier than I imagined. I was so nervous about becoming a parent, but one thing I saw on TikTok that really resonates with me now is that you’ve experienced bad things before like lack of sleep , being sick, anxiety, etc so you’re prepared for the bad parts of having a child but nothing can really prepare you for how amazing it is. 10/10 recommend lol

2025-03-16 17:31:33 +0000 UTCI get so overstimulated around my nieces that I can't imagine having a kid around 24/7. my friends tell me about spending weekends at baseball or volleyball tournaments for like 14 hours a day. That sounds like my personal hell 😂 And I personally feel like as a mom, you're expected to take on most of the responsibility of the family management like schedules, meals, etc. day to day life stuff that I can barely handle for just myself 😂

2025-03-15 17:40:42 +0000 UTCThe beginning of this is so funny because I was about to scroll through tiktok and I was like no I need to just sit back and relax and not have this short form media in my face so I came here

2025-03-15 15:30:56 +0000 UTCI wise woman in her 60s once told me, “I believe you should feel *compelled* to have children. I never felt compelled so I did not have kids and I do not regret it.” That perspective was so comforting because I’ve never genuinely felt the urge to be a mother. But I can be a really healthy adult for my nieces & nephews 🫶🏽

2025-03-14 21:14:20 +0000 UTCI love my Oura ring! I've had mine for a little over the year and I highly recommend! Also you can pair it with an app called Natural Cycles if you are wanting to learn more/track your menstrual cycle or get off birth control.

2025-03-14 18:12:54 +0000 UTCI love this perspective - ty for sharing! I also feel similarly, sometimes I think about life almost as a video game (simulation theory lol) and to have a kid would be almost “unlocking” so many “levels” aka opening yourself up to all of those humanity experiences like you said

2025-03-14 15:41:18 +0000 UTCHonestly the Disney idea is a good one haha! I do that too when I think about kids, like I start brainstorming ideas for child care and such, even though I’m not pregnant, but it soothes me somehow to have creative options out there

2025-03-14 15:39:27 +0000 UTCCurrently pregnant and I have definitely referenced my baby as my parasite several times. 😂Otherwise, it was 100% my choice to bring a life into the world - so I’m ready to provide what he needs.

2025-03-14 15:38:12 +0000 UTCWhen I do think about having a kid, it is having 1 kid at exactly age 36 haha so I feel like this message is kismet for me! And congratulations!!!

2025-03-14 15:38:02 +0000 UTCAgree with this take ❤️ I think the thing I look forward to most is hopefully seeing my kid as an adult and what that relationship will be like.

2025-03-14 15:31:55 +0000 UTCLovely podcast as usual! I also can’t pronounce anything, so I’m no expert, but I think you did great. As for the topic of having kids - my husband and I have been together since we were 19, and we’re both 33 now. It’s taken a while, but we’re finally ready to have children. Neither of us particularly likes children or babies, and I do worry that the early years might not be much fun… but in my opinion, having children is such a profound part of understanding and loving humanity. It’s one of the most human experience. To be with someone you love unconditionally as they grow up and experience the highs and lows of the world is something I personally can’t miss out on in my short time on this planet. I’m not a spiritual person, but raising a child is one of those rare things where I believe you can tangibly feel love, growth, and connection. My relationship with my parents has evolved over time, and while I’m wary, I’m also looking forward to experiencing that bond with someone else. I’ve thought about it so much in the seven years we’ve been married, so even though I’m nervous, and honestly terrified about being pregnant, I know it’ll be worth it, and I can’t wait! Sorry for the big comment! It’s something I’ve thought so much about, and it’s hard! I feel like there’s so many ways to feel, and all are valid. Most of my friends don’t want kids so I’ll be an outlier but I’m looking forward to meeting new people and the friends I’ve got being amazing aunts ❤️

2025-03-14 15:24:36 +0000 UTCLoved this episode! I’m really digging the mixed bag of topics and also love a good quote. I’m fucking terrified about having kids. I’m still on the fence but I’m 33 so I really have to sort it out soon. I have no siblings so I’ve had very minimal kid interaction and feel so ill-equipped for it. My bf of 8 yrs basically raised his siblings so he’s a pro. Lately I have been thinking about how if I stay in orlando I can just get a Disney pass and maybe I can just spend every single day that my bf works at Disney World and pack picnics so I always have a paramedic nearby and don’t have to be alone with the child incase an emergency happens 😂 Also pregnancy actually really grosses me out like such a parasitic experience and idk almost substance-esque like the baby takes your entire life force and then you just get older as they freely experience life that you slave to pay for idk 🤷♀️

2025-03-14 15:12:06 +0000 UTCHaving a baby next week 😅 And honestly my active dog is a lot of work, so I know a kid is going to blow my world up. I’m 36 & have a great partner…but I was no kids until about 4 years with him. Even so we’re one and done (for all the modern reasons). I think you cross the bridge when/if you get there and do your best. You can always be another amazing support adult to other kids in your life. 😊 Also, agree 100% about the us vs. 1% - we all need to agree for that to be our focus.
