And I work in a lab and do covid testing and we definitely don't keep those swabs or do anything with them but toss them in a biohazard trash can 😂

I had covid and my symptoms were similar to the flu while I was sick, but it caused probably 90% of my hair to fall out over the course of about a year and a half after having covid. A lot of people I know had some amount of hair loss after, mine was worse bc I already had alopecia. I know people who have had covid with no symptoms to people being hospitalized with blood clots in their lungs. But with viruses, the amout of viral DNA you're infected with is a factor in how sick you get. Maybe your immune system is stronger than your brothers but also maybe you just wash your hands more and are more cautious of germs 😂

feminism against progress was a meaty one

red scare used to be very different. they have always been edge lords, but right around the time Anna gave birth things really took a turn. thats just my time reference lol. i still try to listen because it's important to me to not be in a circle jerk of my own beliefs. granted they still make good points. as for the subreddit, the current one is completely toothless. we've been through a million backups and the good ones never last lmao. u/MSSoM lives on infamously as Dasha's stalker. so far he hasn't been too irl creepy aside from going to an event Dasha was speaking at. id love for you to do a bit of a dive.

On the DNA database conspiracies... i simply dont believe in concerns like "theyll use your DNA for testing/frame you for a crime/etc", because if the government or anyone else wanted your DNA THAT badly, they could just get it from your trash.

It’s pronounced like “bi-u” 😘

As a Louisiana girl, I’m dying at your pronunciation of bayou 🤣🫶

In grad school I took a cybersecurity/data privacy class and we talked about 23andme a little bit and it’s not a good idea for that data to be traded around freely and with no protection! I don’t think it’s a conspiracy at all to think that the data they produce is being bought and sold. It is a huge potential source of profit for 23. Also, unlike genetic testing you would get done at your doctor, that info is not protected by HIPPA. I will say though, in 2008 when the human genome was sequenced GINA (genetic information nondiscrimination act ) was passed preventing that kind of discrimination for insurance companies and employers INCLUDING “employers from requesting, requiring or purchasing genetic information about a person or their family members.” Which hopefully makes you feel a little bit better! That’s not to say that can’t use that data to make generalizations about certain groups and make decisions accordingly. And Pharmaceutical Companies having access to that info however… no laws around that (that I’m aware of!) also I really would love an ep about making/deepening friendships!

I have so many thoughts on the Taylor Swift thing, but I will say I agree! I think after she lost the Grammy for red she tried to become someone she isn’t for 1989, and then she had a rough couple of years and disappeared. I think when she said the old Taylor is dead for reputation, she meant it. I think we as the public lost that privilege and after she got burned she said fuck this I’m not doing it anymore

First of all bi Aquarius here 🥰 Secondly, I don’t remember fingerprints HOWEVER we had a video tape made at blockbuster where me and my brother stood and said our full names DOB and phone numbers in case we were ABDUCTED wtf???

Chelsea Sims

In my world it’s tubberware and woman instead of women 😂

Shannon McNamara

Lesbians rules are different for EVERYTHING just about I find, compared to hetero relationships. I am still friends with all of my female exes hahaha

Shannon McNamara

Truly! I feel like everyone has everything on us already :(

Shannon McNamara

lol Shannon, it’s TUPPERware not tubberware

Karley

For the breakup/stay friends pipeline, I’m currently going through a breakup x move across the country, and planning to stay besties 😶 but to be fair we’re lesbians so

karleighehe

Jokes aside. I feel that society has already so much data from us is actually scary.

Giuliette

I did use 23and me but I live in Europe am I safe 😩?

Giuliette

her baby voice was just SO pure and emotional!

Shannon McNamara

hahaha the farting on OF live stream killed me too

Shannon McNamara

TV doesn’t have the same sass and emotion as the originals. 🙁

Jen M

I live in Texas and my co-workers and I screamed when we saw a pic of Lana's man bc he is sooo quintessentially "guy your southern uncle is talking about when he says 'i know a guy'"-core 😭

Emily G

Diiiied laughing at “people think I’ll sue you if you step on my lawn but I won’t unless you’re Olivia Rodrigo” 🤣🤣🤣

Tor

Favorite quotes from this episode so far: “Switch the flip” , “would it be, perhaps, peeing into the armpit?”, “he had a client who he would fart on for thousands of dollars and that’s how he paid his rent... Because he used to fart a lot on his OF live streams”

Okay I’m mostly thinking of more recent episodes but what I would recommend for interviews with controversial people is the ones with Curtis Yarvin (who JD Vance has said he admires), Steve Sailer and Alex Jones. There are some other interesting figures (Tucker Carlson, Ann Coulter etc ) but a lot of stuff is paywalled. I would also listen to any of the Lovelines episodes as those are a bit lighter and wildly popular. The most recent one has Dasha’s boyfriend on. And then like one of the ones that is just them drinking and chatting without a guest but I don’t know which I would pick. The one about the Middle East is interesting (“you Gaza be kidding me” I think it’s called ?) They always have clever titles. I also listened to Witch Trials of JKR back in the day and I had no idea there was controversy around it but people let me know lol and I did end up watching Contra Points’ response to it and it was wild cuz I had thought it was well done and I ended up rethinking everything. I am fascinated by the concept of Covid immunity !! Like it is crazy to me that many people I know didn’t get it until this year (I got it 2021 but just once). And people who didn’t get it until recently seem to be getting it more times? This is just my anecdata not real science. But I do still know like three ppl (and now you) who just never got it. Someone told me people with type O blood are more resistant (not sure if this is true ) and then also someone I know with that blood type got it multiple times. I think you Covid resistant folks are gonna end up being the only people left who can still get health insurance in the dark future lol

Jenna S.

I liked when Shannon was rattling off things she’s trying to work on about herself & it was literally ALL the traits I’m also working on lol! As an enneagram type 4 I always think I’m the only one going through it 😂

Taylor

Let me know which episodes would be good to listen to!

Shannon McNamara

I did have covid and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Incredibly painful, but I realize it was so different for everyone who has had it. I also think the red scare girls deserve a deep dive. Usually end up turning them off because everything they say is so annoying and ragebatey. Regardless, great episode!

Jacqueline

I still listen to Red Scare/have since early days . They are Trump supporters now, but the show hasn’t really changed because they’ve always been contrarian/controversial. I think a deep dive would be really fun.

Jenna S.

on the finger print thing, yes! my mom who was a kid in the 80s talks about how when she was in school they would take their fingerprints and take note of identifying marks and shit on them. apparently it was at the height of that paranoia of kids going missing and such. i was in elementary school in the late 2000s and i vaguely remember them taking my finger prints too
