Julia Fox came out this week as a lesbian in a TikTok stitch (although as you know from our Jojo episode on Monday...it takes 2 public coming outs for a celebrity to be "verified" lol) so I wanted to dive into Julia, her anti-male-gaze lifestyle, her remarks on how she's been celibate, and then a discussion around celibacy, other celebrities who have been celibate, and other stories of late in life lesbians and what it means to come out later in life.

Not to sound dumb but I always thought celibacy was purely a religious thing!! It sounded like most of the people were just practicing abstinence lolol. Also with how things are going politically can you blame people for not wanting to have sex?

2024-07-14 13:58:26 +0000 UTCThis might be a hot take but I think the reason why there are so many ‘no nut’ resources for men and not women is the difference in expectations for the two. For men it is an expectation that they have to cum in sex and without that the act isn’t complete but I think in society there is a much smaller portion of people who view a woman’s orgasm with the same importance. Because of this I think men see cumming (in sex or just masturbation) as an essential and so inherently not cumming regularly is seen as this hard thing to do, where as for women pleasure is a lot more taboo so the average woman may feel it’s not absolutely essential and if it happens great but going without an orgasm for a extended period of time isn’t actually that much of a difficult task. In fact I think there is a huge lack of education around women’s pleasure so women don’t mind going without as much because they have always gone without and don’t actually know what good sex or self pleasure can look like. Essentially men see no nut as a massive challenge to overcome but for a lot of women it’s just the way they live their life because of the ideas in society around female pleasure.

Back on Julia’s original IG account (again ~10 years ago) she was openly bisexual and/ir creating posts to give that impression. She’d also post stamped H bags. This was waaaaay before movie roles or Kanye or fucking blue checked accounts. I don’t feel like she’s a forever lesbian now. But definitely bi and has been for a long time.

It helps so much and I agree, I feel a lot better and don’t have snacky cravings nearly as much.
