Female celebrities who resent their hotness feat. Christy from X Knows All

This was a fun and intriguing topic from a floozy - today Christy joins me to talk about female celebrities who are hotter than fire, but might feel like their hotness hinders them. From Megan Fox to Emrata and more, we pour through their quotes and struggles with their attractiveness. Is it a problem? Should they shut up and just be happy that they're symmetrical? There are COMPLICATED feelings here, and I think I lose my feminist card about 5 times in the episode, but hopefully you get where we are coming from with this conversation! Curious to know everyones thoughts as well...is being hot something that helps you, hinders you, or both?

Female celebrities who resent their hotness feat. Christy from X Knows All

I haven’t necessarily been insecure about most of my body except I used to be insecure about my face because I used to have acne. A lot of my insecurities stem from other places, like my adhd and auditory processing disorder. I definitely had a bit of an awkward phase and then got cute when I was around 16/17. Definitely noticed how differently people treated me. But I also think I’ve always been seen as “cute” and not necessarily “hot”, like model hot, and recently I was out with some friends and one of them is like drop dead hot and it was very eye opening how much unwanted attention she gets from men. She was walking me home and this old guy kept bugging her, and as I got onto the tram I just shouted at him to leave her alone and luckily that doesn’t really happen to me. Really good insight

As a Scottish person, you having bagpipes for st Patrick's day is sending me 😂😂

Lils

Part 2 please!

Elisaveta Nikityuk

I also think that she - at least right now - sees herelf as the boob girl and it taking avantage of it. Making the most money she can before the hye stops

Thai

When I was 19 I lost maybe 10-15 pounds one summer bc I was at the beginning of a serious eating disorder. Going back to my ultra New England high achieving college, I got more male attention than I ever had. That totally messed with me as did the fact that I kept shrinking and shrinking, lost my period and kept receiving positive attention

Meg Hall

Yesss part 2 please !

Mathilde Morelli

Also I will say Sydney Sweeney had a lot of better roles before euphoria and I blame Sam levinson for making her a boob girl. I wouldn’t be shocked if she gets a reduction in the future just to stop it, but also back pain 😭

Omg these are some things I am constantly thinking about!! First off, anyone who says pretty privilege isn’t real is either drop dead gorgeous and doesn’t know it orrr is actually ugly but thinks they’re hot 🤭 Also as a fat person and as one who has been for a long time it’s kinda like an invisibility cloak sometimes and it does get frustrating when people will not acknowledge me or will give me dirty looks just for existing in their presence. I will say as well I used to be more bothered by people saying skinny shaming is just as bad as fat shaming but now I’m like yeah body comments suck but I’m still very much in the if 90% of clothing stores sell your size you have no say 🤷🏻‍♀️ there’s also so many activities that you can’t do for safety reasons a lot of the time à la weight limits and it is usually just a deep sigh of wanting to try a thing just to see if it’s fun. I’ve also spent sooo much time wishing I had a model body but knowing even if I had what I’ve deemed the perfect body I would still hate parts of it. I think body dysphoria is kinda inevitable for a lot of us. It’s also just exhausting existing where the beauty standard has reached an unachievable point with all the filters and editing that people refuse to admit to. Skin has texture!! Variation of features is a good thing! But it’s still hard to break away from the beauty standards especially if like me you grew up having none of the beauty ideals. I do not wish to be perceived

RJ

Definitely want part 2!

Re Margot vs Sydney’s careers: I think the best and smartest thing Margot did was start a production company as soon as Wolf of Wall Street hit it big. She’s given hints about this over the years, about starting the production company the summer after WOWS with her childhood friend, her future husband, and his childhood friend. That production company is why I, Tonya happened and that film was what got Margot credibility. I do think the Harley Quinn role served her well even as the films were either critical or commercial misses. But I, Tonya changed the game for her. I remember going into the 2017 awards season being hopeful for her but worried she would be written off by Hollywood because she’s stunning. I’m glad she didn’t. But for the girlies looking to not have Hollywood define their hotness and end there, start producing your own films.

I will say that while I agree with y'all that complaining about how hard it is to be pretty is very like 😒 ok girl... champagne problems, but as someone who developed big boobs as a teenager, being objectified by men gets old quick. Not that I think that I'm super hot or anything 🤣 but the amount of weird comments I would get from 40 yr old men at 17 was crazy.

Jennifer Lake

Sydney was also in Reality and did not play a bimbo and she was SO good in it!

Kira Wolpert

The pussy quiver comment sent me 🤣

Brookeott

I would be interested to hear y’all discuss Julia Fox. I think she’s known for being hot but she always puts effort into “looking unattractive to men” by bleaching her brows or wearing unflattering fashion (her words, not mine). I think she seems more “real” than Megan Fox and Emratta because she has such a casual vibe on TikTok like posting with her mascara all smudged and showing her messy ass apartment.

Angelyca Violet

Not Shannon turning into Eartha Kitt when she said “SANDWICH”

Pump Pumptini

Love this episode, def need a part 2

Gabriella Silvagnoli

shannon you’re so right about men actually just wanting other men like if you’re straight and looking for a GIRLFRIEND why is your entire hinge profile about sports and drake?????

Savannah Martin

I agree!!!! More Christy (but pls don’t stress out about it!)

Bunny

Not the call to arms from Christy and Shannon!

Bunny

tbh a lot of sydney sweeney’s roles are for the female gaze, but her boobs are so nice that men won’t be normal about her lol

Sara

Margot Robbie has done very well I remember her from her Neighbours days. Go look at pics of her from then, her work is so subtle!

Kate Puttock

Christy hell ya on telling that guy no on splitting and giving your reasons!!

Aimee

No way! My suggestion for stories that got scrubbed from the internet was picked on the bonus episode! This is so cool. Does anyone remember UPick on Nickelodeon where you call in and get to choose which episode of Rocket Power you want them to play? That’s how I feel rn. Thank you Shannon for being such a cool creator and taking into account fan suggestions. You’ve really been ROCKIN the stage lately. It’s obvious that you care and don’t just haphazardly pump out lazy content. I think the topic of scrubbing stuff from the internet is so fascinating. Other examples I can think of are photos of celebs smoking cigs or certain politicians gaffs. Anyway you’re the best, thank you for being awesome

Davis

Thanks so much for covering this after I asked! You both did a great job. The film star who poured acid on her legs was from the 1920’s, her name was Lotus Thompson ☺️

Katie Stephens

Okay both of you are hot bitches. Like let's be real. But yes we all have body issues!

Problematic Bestie

Adding that to my watch list!

Shannon McNamara

What's even crazier about the pink tax is that women's products are more expensive and also don't work as well. Razors have less blades and deodorant has less of the active ingredients than men's products

Jennifer Lake

Agreed on the body changes. I lost 70lbs. It didn’t make me happier. But how people treated me was so vastly different.

Corinne Huntley

I never take criticisms (constructive or not) from people who I wouldn’t take advice from.

Corinne Huntley

Don’t get me started on Barry I can NOT with him

xknowsall

You should do a mini deep dish on that Barry guy from saltburn. I find it a little weird that he left baby and baby mamma for Sabrina Carpenter but everyone is happy for them even tho it's the same thing Mr.Spongebob did with Ariana Grande

Monica

Sydney Sweeney played a non-sexualised character in Reality (2023), and because her acting was so well received, it leads me to believe that she is choosing her bombshell roles. My theory is that she wants to be seen as a sex symbol. The SNL guests literally choose their SNL skits, so the fact 6/8 sketches were about how hot she is was up to her.

Tiresi Kirbae

I think I said something like “not to say women can’t be president bc of their period, I personally couldn’t be president bc of my mood swings” or if I didn’t, that’s what I meant!

Shannon McNamara

“And you’re making me split this-fuck off” 😭

Tiresi Kirbae

Saying the comment of women not being able to be president because of their period even if you’re just “talking about yourself” is deeply misogynistic 😳😳😳

elana23

Chivalry is such a swooner!

Shannon McNamara

You are so right my husband is older, old school chivalrous and I was smitten 5 min in 😍

Ash

Good episode. American beauty standards are insane. Europeans don’t feel the pressure to change themselves as much.

Lily

HAHA I want to print out that last sentence and frame it

Shannon McNamara

I buy the harrys razors. Mens razors work better and are cheaper. Might start buying mens deodorant. If they made tampons for men I would buy those too because they would be free and probably give you an orgasm.

Jacqueline

Yes I missed Christy
