I know some folks here aren't American, so we cover TikTok topics at the top in the hopes that there's something in here for everyone! As with every political topic, I never want to ruffle feathers or offend anyone - just here for the gossip and rumors and lore!

So who knows what’s going to happen there because I’m sure he and Ariana won’t be on speaking terms by the time they resume filming 😂

But I think you kinda nailed it here, at her heart she is a comedian/stand up comedian & I feel like sometimes the bitterness of having come-up off a podcast instead of her standup seeps through the pod sometimes. & yeah they remind me of my friends who don’t really branch out much 😂 they crack me up love them & don’t mind a bit of bitterness I totally get it.

2023-07-31 08:12:28 +0000 UTCAlso I’m so glad you mentioned Gwen! I’ve only heard one other podcast talking about her and the people they got info from was just wrong. I’d been following her since 2018 or so and she was having a mental health crisis a little bit before she started the anti vax rants and going that route. From what I recall (from vids on her second channel) she seemed to get really engrained into the anti vax conservative mindset all through Covid and in 2022 started talking about how she regretted doing 0nlyfans and wanted to change to homesteading and had become Christian. She’d been talking about wanting her own farm for years though ever since she moved away from her apartment 🤔 so the turn of events wasn’t shocking to me. I did see that Tiktok of two girls talking about how it was a whole 180 from her being an out lesbian (she’s only said bi from what I’m aware 🤷🏻♀️) to now being conservative wanting to live off the land. I haven’t seen the TikTok’s but based off what she’s been talking about on YouTube for 3ish years it just wasn’t a shock. There was also people talking about her flippantly talking about having a business but in the past I believe she’d wanted to start a sustainable clothing line. Last time I kept up with her it just seemed like she wanted to live on a commune where they could grow their own food and all that 🤷🏻♀️ sorry this was so long it’s just been bothering me and I didn’t have a place to put it 😅

Your take on the CMBC girls was fascinating and I really enjoyed hearing it. I love them but you’re completely right that it’s hypocritical for them to be snarky about Emily trying to be a fashion influencer before being a food influencer when they’ve had like three other podcasts before this one. I hadn’t thought of it like that.

2023-07-30 07:32:27 +0000 UTCIt’s so strange how the Emily mariko discourse happened. I watched her YouTube videos previously kind of casually. It was pretty neutral fashion - very focused on simple, staples sort of stuff and I enjoyed watching her reviews of certain types of clothes - like a bunch of different Levi jeans, white T-shirts, heels, underwear types all girls should have - idk just very simple videos that help with basics. The comments were pretty nice and neutral too, maybe some comments on what her job was and how she afforded everything, but it was a nice little community that she built I think. Watching her blow up on tiktok was insane, because this women (who always seemed very nice and pleasant in her videos) who had made a little cute YouTube as a side job was suddenly opened up to the vitriol of the internet. Just so much discourse and hatred over silly little food videos. I think the fact she blew up over such simple little videos is what drove up a lot of the hatred; “how did THIS video get so much attention it’s about a basic salmon dish” - but that’s hardly her problem? Anyway, I’m sure she’s doing great with the successful career but it was so jarring to see the difference in reception from her YouTube to her tiktok.

I would love to sit and pick your brain. Also, so fascinated to know your birth chart (I’m ONE of those 😂) I’m incredibly objective and logical - willing to entertain “conspiracy theories” but lean more to liberal beliefs. Cannot stand politics in general and think all of them suck. Except my man, Bernie. (Although I’m aware he probably does do some crappy things) but I do very much enjoy his public persona 😂 anyways, thank you for speaking so eloquently and providing educated analysis’

2023-07-28 16:03:20 +0000 UTCI used to manage professional events for my old company in the DMV (DC/MD/VA) area. I have a face (or something) that people want to spill their guts to for some reason. People, especially strangers, love to dump on me and I love to listen - sometimes. Anyway, at these events, I've heard an array of stories about bonkers things. Drunk corporate bros gossip like little church ladies. A drunk attendee at one of these events told me a *wild* story about Hunter Biden. I won't repeat it, but it's very much in line with recent news about him. What I find most interesting is that allegedly there are some clubs and bars with secret rooms. Not just VIP, they're supposed to be entirely unknown to the "little people". The bar community in DC is also strange. DC has sour energy.

Trump made his children part of his administration by giving them very public roles, and Obama’s children were minors who lived in the White House. That’s different than an adult son, who yes, sounds terrible, but didn’t sign up for political life himself. To me, it’s always felt like an attempt at a tit-for-tat response to people discussing Jared and Ivanka, and that feels like a false equivalence since they were government officials and he wasn’t.
