Selena’s Rolling Stone article

I’d love a deep dive on the documentary. I feel like it didn’t paint Selena in the best light, which I appreciate but I agree with some others If she hates the limelight so much then why does she keep herself in it? She could follow her philanthropist heart and would be much more fulfilled

Raquel has always given me bad vibes since I started watching that HBO Selena cooking show. She doesn’t come across great in it. On the documentary there are many instances of her shitty behavior but I think the most telling is Selena saying she wants to quit and have a normal life and her friend manipulating her by saying she needs to use the gift god have her to help others. Clearly she’s on the payroll and clearly she’s lacks empathy, so I’m not sure why Selena keeps her around.

1) I had high hopes for the doc but I think The Rolling Stones interview was more person and genuine than the doc 🙃 it was very one note and vague To be fair, it was interesting to get a look into her life and see how chaotic it is but couldn’t help but feel it was missing something 2) she keeps saying how much she doesn’t like this job and being the center of attention etc but I couldn’t help but think how busy she’s been during the pandemic, with rare beauty, Selena + chef, this doc -> she can step away if she wants to so I don’t get the narrative, or am I too mean? 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3) ppl dunking on Raquelle is so weird to me because they’ve known each other for a long time so she can be honest with her and ask her tough questions but ppl think she’s toxic and a gaslighter, I don’t see it I kept thinking it must be hard to have this life where you are a full time friend and your whole life is about them, their career, their health etc etc it can’t be easy so you have to really care to stick around for so long?
