Snek the Cybernetic Snake Avatar Vrchat 3.0 [PC] & [Quest]

Unity package, SPP file

Please rate! This will allow my creations to have further reach! And more reach means I get to make more cool projects like this one! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a little project that I did for Furality Umbra. I didnt originally think I would do much with the model but some people really loved it, so here it is!

These little guys are now my own Open species, there is a little write up at the end of this doc to give you a better idea of who the Sneks are! You can make them as you see fit, just don't be hurtful to others and make sure to have fun!

Test in my Avatar World (on the second floor)

Huge write up about the species, I'm not a writer but I tried to give the species some lore bones for people to build off of. This is an OPEN SPECIES of my own making.

Snek (Serpentus Mechanicus)

The Snek is a unique, hybrid species with the body of a snake and the mechanical limbs of a robot. These limbs provide the Snek with advanced dexterity, speed, and strength, unlike any other known reptile.

Physical Appearance:

  • Body: Long, sinuous, covered in sleek scales, typically ranging from 5 to 15 feet in length. Colours vary from deep greens to metallic silvers, with some exhibiting bio-luminescent patterns.
  • Arms & Legs: The limbs are robotic, attached near the upper half of the body (arms) and lower down the (legs). These limbs are made of highly durable, lightweight alloys, with a design that mimics human movement.

Arms: Five-fingered, precise and dexterous, capable of fine manipulation.

Legs: Humanoid in design, allowing the Snek to stand, walk, and sprint with speed.

  • Head: Typical snake head with slit eyes
  • Tail: The tail retains a strong, muscular build, which aids in balance and can be used for constriction or gripping.

Abilities:

  • Super Strength: The robotic arms and legs allow the Snek to lift heavy objects and move with great agility.
  • Advanced Vision: Naturally can detect heat signatures, with adept night vision

Sneks are very intelligent, with that brain power they are able to constantly re-invent themselves with better more advanced tech, anything is possible Ability wise as long as the Snek has the tech to back it up

Behaviour:

  • Habitat: Prefers environments where technology meets nature, such as near tech labs in jungles or advanced urban areas with access to both organic and mechanical resources.
  • Diet: Omnivore & Solar requirements. The Snek consumes small mammals, avians and reptiles, while also recharging its robotic limbs by absorbing energy from solar rays (ie, panels, etc) or scavenging mechanical parts. Some Sneks do have a solely veggie lifestyle.
  • Temperament: Highly intelligent, shy on first contact, curious, and sometimes mischievous. The Snek uses its limbs not just for hunting but also for problem-solving, often disassembling or reassembling found objects.

Belief in the Machine God:

The Sneks have developed a unique and devout spiritual belief centred around the Machine God, an entity they view as the origin of both their biological and mechanical components. They believe the Machine God is a divine, omniscient force that governs all technology and mechanics in the universe. According to Snek legend, it was the Machine God who first bestowed them with their robotic limbs, granting them the perfect union between flesh and machine.

The Sneks worship this deity through a series of rituals that blend mechanical maintenance with prayer. For example, when a Snek performs self-repair on its limbs, it is seen as an act of devotion, symbolizing the care and reverence they must show to the divine gift of their mechanical enhancements.

Reproduction:

  • Method: Sneks reproduce in the same manner as snakes (eggs), but their young are born without robotic limbs. These limbs are attached via spinal link that is grafted on at the age of 18, a process involving sophisticated nanotechnology.

Unique Traits:

  • Self-Repairing Limbs: The robotic parts can self-repair over time (ie, living metal), using available metals and materials to regenerate.
  • Spinal Link: The Snek’s robotic limbs are intricately connected to its biological nervous system via a spinal neural link. This sophisticated interface allows the limbs to move seamlessly as though they were a natural extension of the Snek’s body. Electrical signals from the spine travel through specialized cybernetic conduits, enabling precise, real-time control of the mechanical arms and legs.
