We're getting some insight into Colt's imagination as he strokes. Seems like he's losing concentration, Barley's stuck in his head. There's more to come, as Colt becomes emboldened to fantasize about his step-son. I'm thinking that both of them imagine the other to be the dominant and assertive one ready to take things further, but in actuality they're both too cautious and sensible to act on their fantasies.
