I got nearly done with this first page and it just wasn't sitting right with me. Doing the lettering, everything about it felt wrong. Somehow. Take a look, do things feel weird, hard to read. Awkward?

So I ran it by a friend of mine, who pointed out some major flaws and broken down why it was wrong.
1. The protagonist, the orc, is moving right to left. Making him look like the antagonist. His monstrous appearance and spikey armor already does that, which is intentional, but in terms of narrative, he's actually who we're following in this sequence. So I flipped the top panel horizontally.
2. Then that meant all my humans were left handed. I wanted to redesign their armor anyhow. So I'm redrawing them.
3. On the lower panel, the first panel is really confusing to look at, because our protagonist is barely in frame.
4. Going from a scene with 3 guys, to suddenly just one in each panel was awkward. So each of the subsequent panels is our orc dispatching a guy.
There's some other awkwardness, like the weird flip in point of view in the middle. Plus the axes being shown at imminent impact, just doesn't work. But now I don't have to worry about either issue now, because I just cut that panel entirely.
Here's the plan for the rework.

While I was redrawing that page, the orc's design just didn't sit right with me. So I drew him in a post-dispatch scene. With an imposing "intent to kill" aura. Decided to just make this page 2.

I also wasn't satisfied with the character design page from earlier. Armand just didn't have the face, height I wanted. Now he's half human. Giving him some extra height justifying that beard he has. They also all have names now! Golgot is our orc protagonist, Armand is the half-human nephew of Dr. Malomie.

And lastly, I split my attention with this little side-image. A follow up to the slime coated dwarf in the wrestling singlet. This page was a massive struggle, because I toiled for hours trying to get the pose on the second frame down, before finally turning to 3d pose tools. Then it was a snap. I think it's turned out nicely. Now... the only thing really left is to detail all the slime on the first panel. Not sure when this is getting done.
