I've been working on sketches and designs for a new project. "The Forgotten Soldier" is a story about an orcish soldier maimed in battle, who lies dying on the battle field. He wakes up later to find himself far away in a remote and strangely isolated village, looked after by an older halfling doctor. It's very much a fantasy abduction story, with some amount of mystery of how he got there. The bulk of the story focuses on culture clash between the orc and his halfling care takers and a gay romance story between the orc and the aging doctor's nephew. The nephew, who helps with heavy lifting and the orc's rehabilitation, is a stout young man with a difficult past of his own.
I intend to work on this project for a while, putting Paladin Porno on the back burner. These first few pages, depicting the battle that puts the orc's life in mortal peril, will be done in my usual style. Hard ink with dark shadows, and I'd like to push it further than normal. Darker than normal. Flashbacks to his old life will likely always be displayed this way. While his life with the doctor will be in a kind of watercolor style that I'm still developing.
