Add color & groove to your rhythm guitar playing
In this etude (musical exercise) I am using a simple chord progression (Am, F, G, Em) and experiment with adding the following elements:
- Open strings to enrich the chords and add color
- Scalar passages in between the chords
- Rhythmic hits to energize the song and create a groove
A clarification regarding Pavel's question about chord inversions on "Naturaleza"
In this video I give a (very) quick overview of chord inversions, the CAGED system, and how to apply it. This is quite a big topic which takes time to master, and requires memorization of the neck and the basic chord shapes in order to be able to freely apply.
