1800 are u slappin

It's Skullcrusher!!!

Even though they're dog-like in appearance I can imagine that since they have such long arms, mantelopes slap at things they don't like like cats. I also think they probably raise their arms up like how crabs do when they're startled.

Episode 26 art preview!

Episode 26 art preview!

I have to get on a plane to England about 4 days before episode 26 is set to go out, and because I'm not going to be bringing my tablet I have to get the coloured thumbnail/instagram art done in advance. (instead of leaving it last minute like I usually do.)

So I thought you guys might like to see it! Originally it was gonna be more representational of a scene from the episode, but the o...

How Eisen found out he was an artificer - a short story

I've wanted to write something about the process of getting tested for magical aptitude for a while now, and I thought the patreon would be a good place to post it!

The four school crests!

The four school crests!

We're going to be releasing these as merch eventually, but we'll also be handing these out as tokens at the Goulburn Steampunk Fair on October 19th! If you're in NSW and you can make it down, you should absolutely come and say hello.

This picks up right where we left off at the end of Chapter 20, so we've got a classic 'the gang all busted up and dirty' image.

Flora of the Seltsamwald: a printable zine

They're doing a podcast zine fair over on tumblr right now, so I thought I'd make a fun little selection of weird plants for everyone to print and share.

This is going to be available for free for the rest of the month, and who knows, if I have another idea I might do another one of these.

I watched Porco Rosso last night and it made me want to try animating Colette doing that thing that ghibli characters do when they're startled

The first six episodes of season 3!

The first six episodes of season 3!

We are so excited about these because of all our excellent guest writers - in addition to the normal stable of Meg, Henry, Charlie, Addison, and Gus we also have Lou Sutcliffe (Eeler's Choice), Antonia Le (Sequestered), and Zuwie Lefou (previously on the show as the voice of Dieter), with more to come in the second half!

You'll Never Want To Leave!: The Nightmare Sitcom Cut

I forgot about finishing this until I found a big pack of studio audience reactions on artlist. It was fun to kind of soft remaster this episode and punch up some of the foley and ambience here and there.

The song Free Spirit is by Yotam Ben Horin.

Dieter is the most despicable villain I have ever written into this show. I love him a lot.

VSR Birthday Song

This Friday's episode is set at a child's birthday party! Here's the song that Valorians sing to their kids on their birthday.

Composed by June Isenhart, featuring Blythe Renay (singing melody and harmony at different points), Josh Rubino, Graham Rowat, Alex Bui, and Taqi Nazeer.  Mixed by me, Meg Tuten.

If this gets enough likes I'll consider writing a musical episode.

The Ankerstadt Ferry - Illegal version

This is a piece from certified movie of all time, A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004). Ankerstadt was kind of my own take on Lake Lachrymose so when I was writing this whole episode I had Thomas Newman's incredible score playing in my head.

mantelope run cycle

It's short, because turns out, non-human run cycles are incredibly difficult!

making unique fantasy monsters is all fun and games until you have to figure out how the damn things move.

The Lucky Dogrobin (illegal version)

If I could get away with putting Blowing Off Steam by Abney Park in this scene, I would've. This actually happens a fair bit- where I have a really specific piece of music in mind for a scene and nothing in my royalty free/public domain library really fits as well as the copyrighted music would've. The remix of Piccolo and a Cane worked great for the end product, don't get me wrong, but in my h...

Why I always draw Eisen and Ariadne wearing gloves.

Why I always draw Eisen and Ariadne wearing gloves.

When you go to magic college, the ceremony where you get your powers involves getting cut on the palm. Each type of magic is a different palmistry line. I like to think that some mages get into the habit of wearing gloves so that other people can't immediately tell what type of magic they use.

Animation to come later. This is on patreon because it won't come up organically in-show for a f...

WIP of character height chart

WIP of character height chart

Sorry the updates on here have been a bit sparse! I'm going to try and get back into the swing of animating again. For now, here's a WIP of a character height chart that I've been chipping away at for a few months.

A few environment and weapon designs with a bit of speculative evolution thrown in for fun. I went to a museum today so it filled me with ideas.
