Houdini 20 allows us to do texture mask painting inside of the viewport using UV's space. You no longer need to subdivide your mesh to a very high resolution in order to get nice detail for masks.

This DevLog for The Lost Facility looks at blending heightfields together. In order to make a terrain that is believable you cannot have seams. To get rid of seams you need to find a reliable method of blending that also allows you to still texture the terrain.
