Everyone's favourite straight-talking prole is back, in this new illustrated sequence by Lubbio! I'm glad Enid is getting comfortable in her new role.

State Of The Realm: July

I like to talk about exciting months, and July has definitely been an exciting month.

First up, there's a new update out - pop on over to Itch to get your copy! This is technically still an interim update (we're busy working on the next major version, 4.3.0), but it's hardly light on content.

Part of that is thanks to Irrelevant Art joining...

Character Art Preview: Maelys, Redressed

In case you missed the wonderful news on Discord, our character artist Irrelevant Art is now working for us full time! This means we can do a lot more by way of costume changes, and other cool things.

You'll see a fine batch of his work in the update this weekend - including the opportunity to redress Maelys, in whatever Marie-Anne could find around the l...

Hatching Plans

It's been a little over two years since the first version was released. We have accomplished incredible things in that time: our game is now over half a million words long, with a thousand pictures, five hours of voice acting, and ten fully animated scenes. The team has grown from one person to a host, all working in concert. We stand on the threshold of our final Act, and we’re ready for the...

After a short spell of illness, Lubbio is back - and back on form! He's illustrated a beautiful sequence where Sabetha kindly helps Inej get over some of her... hesitancies.

Ravager: now with tanlines.

State Of The Realm: June

Another month, another release, and another State Of The Realm post!

June has been a good month for us. Our framework update was successful, and has slain our two greatest foes: the recurring memory error, and the dreaded black box. We've also released v4.2.4, with a bundle of new content for you all.

I am now working on v4.3.0, which is our next ma...

Character Art Preview: Maelys's Makeover

Our girl Maelys has been with us since the very first set of character portraits, done back in 2019 by 6lushy. And now, courtesy of Irrelevant Art, she's getting a fresh lick of paint.

Quite the glow-up, I'd say.

State Of The Realm: May

Another glorious month in the development mines! And a fruitful one, too.

We have our first two updates out for 4.2.x, including a significant start on our dreamweaver scenes. And we have another bonus release, coming out very soon. RenPy's framework has been updated, and with it are the tools to fix our two most annoying bugs: the black box, and memory c...

Art Preview: Darja's Infernal Training

We hit a very exciting milestone last month: we finally got caught up on all of our scene art! Which means we can start to illustrate our fate scenes.

Darja's Infernal fate was the first one voted for, and Lubbio has done an amazing job of it. There will be more, once our new Dreamweaver scenes are illustrated - if you're a Benefactor ($10) or above, pop on over to View Post

Lubbio isn't the only artist who's been hard at work. As our lovely naga is getting... some narrative attention as of late, it feels like a good time to give her a makeover. And Irrelevant Art has done exactly that, with a new portrait and some retouched emotes.

State Of The Realm: April

We did it! The Pale Rock release is out, and I'm really pleased with it. I hope you are too.

In the immediate future, we'll be putting out our enhanced release (4.2.1). This is mostly to fix the bugs that people have encountered, but - as is our tradition - it also contains a whole bunch of new content, as a sweetener.

Speaking of bugs, we've expanded Tosk's View Post

State Of The Realm: March

Hey there, dragon fans! March has been a very productive month for us. We've been mostly busy on our largest project so far - Assault On Pale Rock. The script is finished, clocking in at an impressive 65 pages long. It has been our first whole-team collaboration, and it has turned out very well. Kudos to all of our writers for their industry, patience, and enthusiasm throughout...

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!

Two years ago, version 1.0 was uploaded to Itch. It included most of what we now recognise as Act I, and a little of Act II. It was lovingly rendered with a bunch of characters from an anime avatar generator, and some second-hand scene art (borrowed with permission). It was downloaded by 100 people.

Today, the game is coming to the end of Act IV, and is played by about 40,000 people world...

Version 4.1.7 Released

We are still hard at work on the next major update, but we do have a tradition to uphold: the noble interim release, a compilation of new material and media that has finished in the meanwhile. This interim release is the biggest we've ever made - thanks to our writers, artists, voice talent, and coders for doing so much in the last few weeks.

State Of The Realm: February

Hi folks! The winter doldrums are finally over, and things are looking up in the content factory.

The last release of 4.1 is out and pleasingly stable. But we're not keen to rest on our laurels - our head code monkey Tosk is testing out a potential technical workaround that will (maybe) get rid of the dreaded black box and memory crashes for good (probably).

Competition: The Dragon's Standard

As we approach Act V and the restoration of your rightful rule, it is only proper that you have a suitable flag - no flag, no country, after all. And this strikes me as a marvellous opportunity to open up the field to those who would like to design one.
