Hey Patreons!
First of all, thanks for support! There's been quite a few new supporters since my last post so I wish to welcome all of you guys! I hope you'll be able to find some value in the projects I am sharing.
Now, I do say on my Patreon page's title that I'm creating educational projects *as well as* a video game. And I do. Progress has been slow but it's getting there. I've focused mainly on building projects to feed my Patreon page since I launched it 2 and half months ago, so I'm struggling a bit to find a balance and spend time on working on the game as well, but I'll get there.
As you could guess with the title of this post, I've reached a first important milestone and finally found a cool design for the main character. I'm very happy with it, materials/colors may be further tweaked but I definitely dig its look and I'm moving forward confidently. The reveal teaser might still need some work, some particles effects are pretty janky and lighting may need some more work (also I have a flickering issue during the renders, not sure why) but for now it's good enough. I'll post this on my twitter soon. Maybe even do a devlog on the process of building this character? :| Anyone interested in it?
Next should be the reveal of it's sidekick! Spoiler: it's a cute little robot!
Anyway, let me know in the comments below what you think of it, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts!
That being said, a quick heads up for what should come next on the Patreon.
1) The last project I released was a simple grass interaction system. I'll release very soon a more advanced system, with multiple actors support and custom interaction effects (for explosion and such)
2) Still working on the baked FFT water demo project as well as the Gerstner water demo project. I included a bit more content to both of the projects and it's taking me a bit of time to clean everything and fix all the little quirks but it'll get there.
3) I'm working on a water interaction system with wave propagation system, kinda similar to the UIWS. It's almost ready but I still need to fix some very annoying quirks as well. Making a quick prototype is easy, making an easy to use/understand & polished project is hard :D
4) Some more Niagara stuff, including a complex Boids emitter to create complex swarm of fishes and birds.
5) Distance field usage example project for automatic water shorelines.
Also I really to need to setup that discord server so we can all have a tchat and discuss game dev :) That way you could also ask me questions regarding the projects I've uploaded if you need any assistance, or if you need any help with UE in general.
Allright, that's it. Thanks for your time & support, have a good day guys!
