What I've been up to

Just a quick post to let you know what I've been up to lately and what to expect for this month and beyond.
I've been hard at work cleaning and documenting some of my older projects. Most often when I do that however, I realize there's better ways to do things and I end up completly rebuilding complex systems from the ground up, which obviously takes time. Lately this has been the case for my old Fade system which turns out had plenty of limitations. I'm almost done reworking it, so it'll be released later this month.
The flipbook based FFT water material used in my Tropical Diorama demo will also be released later this month with nice extra features like a pixel-perfect post-process contact waterline effect, underwater post-process effect, Niagara wave crest particles, and an experimental blueprint system to sample the wave height on the CPU for buoyancy simulation.
My Niagara crabs system I showcased a while ago will also be released later this month as well as my vertex animated birds tutorial example, my hierarchical rock spawner blueprint system and a minimalist water interaction system with wave propagation.
Regarding educational UE projects, my mid/long terms plans are:
- Release my advanced grass interaction system
- Release my legacy tall grass interaction system
- Release a new experimental version of that tall grass interaction system
- A c++ example of how to use the Procedural Mesh
- Release more of the tech I used in my Tropical Diorama demo, including my Niagara particle system for fishes
- Release of my Stellar map demo project
- Release my Day & Night system
- Release my Weather system
- Release more complex Niagara examples
- Release of an improved version of my Ivy Generator
- Release some of my previous 3D assets, including characters, rocks sculpts, foliage and so on
- Example on how to build catenary curves in BP and how to use that awesome tool to procedurally create realistic hanging ropes & drapes using the Procedural Mesh Component
- ...
Now I'm also working on a game. The main character is almost done and will soon be revealed with a nice teaser and I'm hoping to get dev logs started sooner or later as well so hopefully this will get you interested as well :D
And a Discord server should soon be available as well!
