First things first, let's get our things in order: hello I'm Noah, KRUGSTON episode 2 is being worked on, and no you can't request a refund for the title pun.
I'll dive into the scope of this episode and some more production insights in another post, so for now let's check out the design process for a familiar face working their way back into the KRUGSTON universe lore:

Microsoft paint has quickly become my go-to concept art software - just look at those beautiful blurry pixels
If you've been watching my stuff for a while now you might remember this guy looking something a little more like this:

Old Knight design from "Doctors Appointment" -- it was a rough year.
The concept of an immortal knight being trapped away in a rundown castle only to be drip fed enemy soldiers as a form of torture is pretty cool to me, but with how little screen time he got it felt like there was more to be done to communicate his character and background.
A lot of the design process was figuring out his new shape language, what kind of armor would this guy wear? How does he syphon the life out of his opposition? (a big hole, for those wondering.)
So I went ahead and sketched up some new ideas, leaning a lot into looser clothing and armor while still trying to keep their large intimidating stature.

Armor is not my specialty, but I like this direction.
A lot of concepting was done in blender as well, getting the shapes right was half the battle.

Laugh it up pal. Your atoms don't look so hot either.
With a lot of different ideas (and some very needed help from my friends) I eventually landed on a knight/executioner hybrid theme that seemed pretty unique and interesting visually.
The blocking made it super easy to go in there and attack this from all angles, I also used a new texturing plugin called "UCUpaint" in Blender to achieve some higher details and layering on this model, so without further ado, here's the new Knight!

Action shots from episode 2.
Hope you guys enjoyed this more in depth behind the scenes blog post, still learning how to run this site so I appreciate your patience as I try to integrate Patreon into my routine and provide you guys with the updates and insights you're paying for.
Thanks for reading, leave any questions or comments below I'd love to know what you think!
