And Xena and Gabrielle have just adopted a teenage daughter. Amarice has quite the arc.

‘Endgame’ is one of my favorite episodes in relation to Gabrielle’s personal journey. She really starts to realize what she is capable of and who she really wants to be.
She was never a true pacifist. She just thought she was because she knew love was the way. But she forgot that love is also protecting and defending the one you love which is what she had been doing from the very moment she met Xena and even before that with her family. Ironically that’s exactly how she got back on to it. Doing nothing at all was never HER way.
She was already following her way from the very beginning. She just didn’t define it.
Thankfully WHOOSH did.

Xena thinks 3 steps ahead.
Liam 5 steps.
Your predications have been so on-point! I’m impressed!

The decision to kill Ephiny is one of the most inexplicable of the series. The actress didn't ask to leave the show, her death was not needed for the plot, and they didn't even milk her death for shock value. They could easily have found another reason for Gabrielle to be in charge of the Amazons. Ephiny could have been away, injured, or captured by Pompey till the final act. It was a missed opportunity for more stories in future IMO.
Good episode nonetheless. Brutus finally gets fleshed out after essentially being a background extra played by a different actor in previous episodes. I like his characterisation here a lot, played wonderfully by David Franklin.
