This is why I never liked Najara. She was such an abusive bitch. Xena was never like that with Gabrielle. Not unless they fell out anyway.

The thing with Joxer is he didn’t really have a story. I mean I’m sure there was a lot more to his family life and how he was treated but they never went in-depth with it. Only mentioned it in passing or when he met up with his brothers. I would of taken him more seriously if he actually had a story and wasn’t just the comic relief. To be quite honest, the only episodes where I could tolerate him were the ones were he had shit to deal with. I.e. Eternal Bonds and The Convert. I don’t hate him, I’m just not interested in him because he wasn’t written to be anything interesting.

The writers really screwed up the concept of Najara terribly here by simply making her "crazy", thereby "vindicating" Xena's attitude towards her (which in Crusader was so hypocritical) . Kathryn Morris is a superb actress and deserved a better written character. It was this series that introduced me to her talents and she is excellent in the series Cold Case which i highly recommend.

YouTube reactors can't do Xena due to it being copyright struck really easily. However, Chosen One Reactions on Patreon is another excellent reactor who has completed Xena some time back. She genuinely loves the show and is straight up inconsolable at certain points of the series.

Yup, like Burak said... the order to close out the season with should be:
1) Episode 19 - Takes One to Know One
2) Episode 22 - Deja Vu All Over Again
3) Episode 20 - Endgame
4) Episode 21 - The Ides of March
Think of it as simply moving the finale two episodes forward.

Completely agreed that the Joxer story was more interesting than the Najara story. I'm glad they took Joxer's first kill seriously and gave him that introspective storyline.
On the other hand, Najara's characterisation here is such a disappointment. She was a very interesting and nuanced character when she was first introduced. She made a unique antagonist precisely because it isn't just her formidable fighting that's a threat, it' because her strong system of belief presents a valid alternative to the one Xena adheres to. Then, they ruined it by making her just another crazy cartoon villain in the second half of Crusader and again in this episode. Kathryn Morris gives such likeability and empathy to her performances, it's a shame they didn't leverage that more by having Najara's noble side be valid.

The suggested order is 19-22-20-21, not 19-21-20-22.
