Here's a quick dev update and what I have been doing recently.
Basically last week, I pretty much completed the Fish Market and Highway map in general. I still have to do few tests for that map related to the Bandit Van AI drive routes but it's pretty much completed.
Related to the Bandit Van and some other improvements for maps. One of the visual painpoints in the Final Demo was that those map transition looked like there was just a "empty slope" to the edge of the map and you were able to clearly see the map border which was quite immersion breaking.
Now I have added "terrain outskirts" to all available maps which basically creates this extra geometry to the map border and now it looks much better. In the video clip attached, you can see how these transitions look now.
Another benefit for this extra land is that now when the BTR / Bandit Van arrives to the maps, those can arrive realistically from these roads and you are not able to visually see those appearing / disappearing in the actual playable area.
Small extra benefit is also that now when there is this extra land, I was able to extend the playable area slightly so there's roughly 10% increase on the playable area on all maps.
Then for another topic. I have basically now to started to playtest the progression and travelling distances with all these existing maps. This testing also includes utilizing multiple shelters and now there's a key system for unlocking those.
These keys are basically divided into two categories: Shelter keys and "one-time-use" special keys for opening some specific doors. In the video, you can for example see how the Village Cellar now requires a key to unlock the door (consumes a that key) and then you can unlock Attic shelter by acquiring that shelter key from doing tasks.
I'm going to do a bit more testing and they I will return back to map building.

Good progress! And now that Attic ramp looks exactly like how they are in real life as well.

2025-12-16 18:45:15 +0000 UTCThat trailer is linked to multiple elements, press releases, collaborations and other content that has to come together at the same time, so it's basically a matter of timing more than am I ready with it personally. In other words, since you only have one opportunity to release the early access trailer, it's quite important that it's released in a best possible moment and with the best possible coverage, so it's not wise for me to just release it even when it's done editing wise. However you will hear more details about that trailer quite soon :)
