Battlefield 5 introduces EA anti-cheat, breaks my mod

An update released for Battlefield V today added an anti-cheat solution for the first time since the game release back in 2018. It broke my 2022 weapon FOV adjustment script for Flawless Widescreen that still worked last week, and reportedly also broke Steam Deck support.

A quick look into it revealed that the game now has some basic detection of the most common debuggers. I may dig further than that, but it's said that it's a kernel-level solution, meaning that I wouldn't get into the process without elevating to that level either. Distributing a fix that goes that far would be risky and potentially become an unwinnable battle if EA are interested in maintaining their work, as they would have access to my public solution.

Simply put, there is not much value in trying and it's not that big of a loss, since the game already has ultrawide support and FOV sliders for the first and third-person views.

Nevertheless, this is a slap in the face of any community modders that may have worked on the game (I couldn't get the popular Frosty Mod Manager to detect the process), reminiscent of publishers taking down their games for good and reminding the users that game ownership is a thing of the past unless purchased via a platform like GOG. Also, does this mean that EA were okay with people cheating in their game for 5 years?
