Weekly Update - 30th of August

Hey friends!

I am back from Ireland (and have been all week), and much recuperated. However, not quite in the right routine just yet, but things have been going much better than they were, all the same.

As I mentioned, I've paused September, and will catch up on things before ultimately unpausing in November (as like I said, I am taking October off.)

Alas, no Irina this week, but the chapter is at 8k words now and it won't take me much longer. I've also managed to get the auntie story up to 5k, so once Irina is done that won't be far behind. I'm being a little gentle on myself this week just because I'm going from fuck-all routine to a rigidly autistic one, but next week should be fully productive. My mental state is a lot better, and I'm feeling very positive about things, and far less drained. (Plus no temporal monolith of a holiday waiting ahead of me, I am back to the the hermit thug life.)

I will put up some polls and things next week, for the next stories. I'll also aim to publish the Mother-Daughter series Vol. 3, which honestly only takes me all of 20 minutes to do but we'll see if I can manage that later. It'd be good to get those (which are finished up to like, I don't know, Volume 6 or something) out just for the sake of giving people who follow that series more to read. (And my inherent capitalist need for currency, of course.)

Lastly, I have been playing around with an AI writer, and I need to preface this in bold capitals, I HAVE NO INTENTION NOR WILL EVER HAVE THE INTENTION OF USING IT FOR PAID OR FREE OR COMMISSIONED OR "SERIOUS" STORIES. Because I appreciate that, in this fucked-up late-stage mess of a planet, a lot of people are losing work to AI and a hallmark of what I do is that it's all just, y'know, "artisanal" smut.

However, what got me into writing smut in the first place was that when I went to places like Literotica, I really struggled to find stories that tend to focus on the horny shit I dig - like the long-ass blowjob first-person things I can only presume I am known for, hah. Which is where stuff like Irina and the New Girl and Kyln came from!

But as I work on commissions, stories to be published, "free" things, and exclusives, I don't get much time to write stuff that's just for me anymore - I don't have enough words in me lately to get everything done per week, as you may have noticed, let alone also write shit for my own perusal. (Not that I dislike what I write for you guys, but I aim to finish projects rather than just stopping and starting randomly, hahaha.)

To this end, the AI thing has been pretty fun to play with at weekends or evenings as a means to basically generate things I want to read on a whim. The quality is not there for it to be more than that, I have to babysit the stupid thing and even then it's not perfect, but it's a fun gadget all the same. (And this may well be a hunter staring down a dangerous predator without realising it, but said predator will be lethal to me one way or another, alas.)

I've only mentioned all this because, assuming people are at all interested, I may get around to posting a few stories I make from it, once in a while. I'll put a poll up next week about that, with the other story bits. Again, no interest at all in using it for any purpose beyond entertainment, but I figure there's no harm in giving people a bit of extra content of a lesser, but still Thalaxian-styled standard.

I should also add that perhaps foolishly I feel no real threat from AI writing, as it goes. Slight ramble here but the one I'm using is the best tool I've seen of the ones I've played around with, and even then, I don't think a crappy writer could make anything decent with it. Not saying I'm the best, but I know that I'm good, and without me doing a fair bit of guiding it plenty of rubbish results, hahaha. Though I do feel great empathy for the visual artists who are having a much harder time!

So I will finish off this ramble with two thoughts. One, that I hope this doesn't worry people, and I hope that despite my ups and downs I have proven my trustworthiness - plus, if I do post some things, you will see how obvious the difference is between the AI-assisted and my hand-crafted stuff. And two, that I am very grateful for what I can only describe as a supportive long-term community that smut writing connects me with as opposed to what I've seen from visual artists, who (as a few friends have experienced first-hand) have little in the way of attention-span or appreciation for the work that goes into the production of art of this, or any other, form.

You guys are great, and I'm sure in part it's because by its nature the smut I create takes more than just a few moments of staring at a page to properly "consume", but even so, it's good to have your continued support. And also plenty of you have great filthy like-minded ideas, which means you are surely my people.
