I joined Threads as soon as I heard about the new social media app a few months back. It was really fun and exciting at first, as new things tend to be. Many people start on a new app and then stop posting quickly, even forgetting to go back to it at all. I kept posting, more and more, and have gained a little bit of a following there.
Something funny I’ve noticed is how many men there will follow me when I post a picture of myself, then unfollow me as soon as they start reading more of what I have to say. Or they unfollow once I assert myself as an individual who isn’t interested in being told what to do by strangers on the internet.
Women aren’t just pretty things to look at; we’re actual humans who expect to have rights, autonomy, safety, respect, and our own whole personality… just like anyone else.
I very much appreciate all the men who understand this and give women space to be real people.
❤️❤️❤️
