Perception is Not Reality
Added 2023-06-07 11:32:26 +0000 UTCOne big lesson I’ve learned over the last year is to not worry myself over trying to control the narrative that other people create in their own minds about me. I can’t fix the incorrect perceptions of others, no matter how hard I try. All I can do is continue to live my life in the best way I am able and be true to my values and morals.
Ignoring the bullshit that people say about me isn’t always easy. In fact, it’s usually VERY difficult. But there is a wonderful peace that comes in slowly after shutting out those unreasonable critics who don’t care about me and only want to manipulate, control, and harshly criticize me. I like me, the people close to me like me, and that’s what matters most.

I try to use this motto: The people who mind don’t matter, and the ones who matter don’t mind. Thanks for pushing yourself in a direction that clearly distinguishes those two groups.
