March WIP, Sewer Water & Poll Results!

Hi everybody,

I am back with a few updates.

First of all, I have been working head down on the Trees of the Eternal Vigil coming this March! You can see the main structure of the trees themselves in the render above, with Arby for scale. Yep, they are HUGE! As I was mentioning in the poll the aim of this set was to make gargantuan trees that would work as combat encounter backdrops (much like the Gate to the Sea of Stars) as well as structural bases for eleven treetop outposts, which are coming next. The shape showing here is still very much WIP although it is working quite well already, there is more work that needs to be done on the roots (which will have also a scatter terrain placeable extensions) and on the top (although, as mentioned in the poll, there will be no canopy for now). I should be able to make a few variant pieces for the tree trunk itself too.

I wanted to show you the Elven Outpost on top too, but that's not at a presentable stage yet - February lacks days, lol. It is coming very soon though. The first batch of the release is dropping next week, with the objects and props coming at most the week after :)

Second, some of you asked for water for the Sewers set, and, after many failed experiments, STL sheets of water that can be used in combination with the OpenLOCK tiles are ready and uploaded. They can be placed just below the upper level OR between the Bot parts and Top parts of the Playability Split channel tiles. The renders really show these options best. I obviously suggest printing these in transparent resin, but that is not compulsury, especially for sewer water. I tried to achieve a gross water look for those, and placed a few flowing items that fell into them to enrich them and give them a bit of a diorama vibe (you can use liquid primer to prime and paint these objects specifically and not lose the transparency of the rest of the water!). You can always take a clear sheet and combine it with any object or prop from this or previous releases to get more variety. They will print if supported correctly :)

I also suggest using hobby materials (like dust poweder for bases, sand, etc..) to create a rougher "there is something solid here" look if that's whay you are going for. Those materials will definitely help with blending the cuts of these sheets (4 inches squares, 2mm thick) together, and heating and bending will definitely be needed to straighten them, even with the best printer settings and resin - I find that that's just the nature of resin and large sheets of material. That said, a hairdryier does the work really well, and any flat weight will do.

Finally, we have the results for both March and Aprile releases. The first, as mentioned above, will be the Trees of the Eternal Vigil, winning on both Patreon and Tribes, while the second will be: the Theater, with twenty votes combined. Can't wait to start working on that too, but one thing at a time XD
